Jeff Gordon Considering Retiring After The 2014 Season? Maybe.

After all that's going on in NASCAR I'd consider retiring too. Specially if you're an old timer like Gordon.

He's one of the few that has seen this sport go from good too great too bad. No one has been screwed more than Gordon when it comes to championships.

Anyway, I'm ok if he retires after this year. I'm looking for a reason not to give two damns about this sport as it is, this would definitely smooth the process.

Both Gordon and Edwards have been screwed out of two championships.

That would honestly be awesome.

I have been wanting Carl to go Chevy for the longest of time. He can do some good damage in Hendrick equipment.
We will have to make a lengthy thread focusing on the issue of retiring the #24 :sarcasm:

The thought of Gordon retiring and not being on the track every week doesn't really bother me. I've been expecting it, so when it finally happens I'm fine with it.

But after reading through this thread, I realized seeing someone else driving the 24 car every week is going to bother me more than Gordon retiring. lol

I'm not saying they should retire the number, and don't want them to. Just that it's going to be slightly disturbing seeing some other guy driving the 24 car every week after Gordon walks away.

Hell maybe he won't. Hendrick might bring the 25 back for Chase

Anybody own the rights to 9? It was last used by the now defunct Evernham motorsports...right? When Chase comes up, he'll probably stick with 9 his daddy's number.

Funny, when I said something about the 24 number been retired too I got chew out by the try hards here. lol

I would rather see it gone if some no name, good for nothing driver gets in there and totally sucks.

I'd be fine with someone like Larson or Elliott take over.

If the 9 isn't available he could go with 94 like he ran in the trucks last season.

I'm thinking this is Gordon's way of venting about the insane championship changes without actually saying that it pisses him off.

I may be reading his comments wrong since I'm biased, but that's the way I read them.

Haha, he likes it. I told you it was just business to these guys, Dylan. Fans always care more about stuff like this than the actual athletes.

Exactly.. because after all.. they just want to race. Isn't that why they're there to begin with? They still get to... and isn't that why WE are all here to begin with too? We love to watch racing.... news flash every one.. we'll still get to too :D
