Jeff Gordon needs probation

Hey,

I can defend Gordon. I am shocked I am defending him, but I actually don't think he deserves to be punished.

And you are defending him too so :p . LOL. *checks Kitie and herself for fever*

Yeah, Rusty and Jimmie both got the same punishment so no need to complain about that.

We are going to take over this board, no problem. Muhahahahaha.

You can't penalize Jeff for driving like that. If they penalized drivers for that , RCR and DEI wouldn't have any drivers on raceday.

The spoiler thickness issue is critical to the aerodynamics of the car. If the spoiler is thinner in the center section, at 180+ mph, the center of the spoiler can deflect downward, even a tenth of an inch, the drag of the spoiler is lessened and the speed of the car increases-however, I'm not sure how much of an increase would occur.

The flipside of a thinner spoiler is less downforce and a more squirrelly car-and in a 30+ pack of cars, do you really want someone bouncing around like crazy?

That's Racin!!!!!!!!!!! If NASCAR put every driver on probation that made contact with another car yesterday, next weekends race would be called "The Race of the Probies". Most of the drivers would be on probation. But I don't think it was intentional. ;)

Comparing Johnson and Wallace...Johnson's infraction was found after a race and Wallace's was found before a race. That means Johnson raced with an illegal setup while Wallace did not. There's your difference. That's why I think they should not have received the same punishment.

JMO!!!!!

the whole comparison is stupid because that one race was not the only reason bodine got on probation If I remember correctly nascar said it was because of that race and many others. Jeff made a mistake on one track and it was a short track I dont know how many drivers went over the curb but several other drivers bumped other drivers

Smack, your right, you can't even begin to draw comparisions between Jeffy and Bodine. Jeff had a bad day, Todd has had a bad season. The thought of putting Jeff on probation is proposterous to say the least...and I'm not even a Jeffy fan

But he was whining...no doubt about that.

Yeah, he was!! And the really bad thing is he was whining more than the other Gordon!! Very strange day yesteday was!!:D

Im not denying he doesn't complain but every driver complains to a certain degree and yes he complains more then alot of other drivers. Again I dont see how that has to do with his driving.what are we going to bring up next tony stewarts atitude problems or dale jrs alchohol problems.

Ive seen several articles that said if there was every any big problems in nascar dale sr would talk to nascar about it because he was a good leader isnt that complaining or aka whining.

Thank you for answering my question, I very much appreciate it! Now that you've explained it, it makes a lot more sense why they'd penalize Rusty's crew chief, but like Blazing24 said, they found it before the race... It's just funny how it's the same punishment no matter when they find the infraction.

I actually agree. :) For some reason I always keep an eye on TB every week, and it seems like EVERY race, he's either causing wrecks, or he's involved in them. I'm not the biggest Jeffie fan, but I think his driving was just short-track racing. Everyone gets a bit dirty at times, it's a grueling race. Hell, even Junior and Rusty got into it quite a bit on the track, and that was all TOTALLY intentional.

It's all water under the bridge now anyway. Jeff didn't get fined/put on probabtion, and NASCAR won't do it anyway, no matter how much we debate back and forth.
