Jerry Punch just said Truex/NAPA going to JGR

My official Prediction:

Napa: Gone from Nascar. Maybe they put on a small sticker. At most, they do a 5 race deal.
5 Hour Energy: They will sponsor a couple races for Stewart Haas, and that's in.

MWR becomes a 1 car operation with Vickers.

I dont know any more than anybody else but I can see this scenario. If 5 hour pulls the plug at the end of the season where does that leave bowyer with all the rides pretty much gone? I just dont see anybody stepping up to sponsor a go cart by Mikey.

What's your basis for the 5 Hour prediction?

Good question. I speak fluent Corporate Slime, so when I read this:

"We'll see how the year plays out," company president Scott Henderson said Sunday at New Hampshire.

Michael Waltrip said Friday he expected 5-Hour Energy to remain with MWR.

But Henderson, who had a friendly chat with Bowyer before the race, made it seem like no decision was made.

"There's a lot of talk about integrity," he said. "When the guy who's in charge can say, 'I can do whatever I want and I'm going to do it and I just did,' I wonder about integrity. I want to make sure we can win in this sport, OK?"

I translated it to the president saying "Hey Michael, thanks for the free out. Maybe we will stick around if we get a discount on our sponsorship, maybe we wont. This **** is expensive, and we think we got the most we are going to get from our NASCAR sponsorship."

Rk motors and peak fill out the car bowyer misses the chase and leaves the team for the 16 car.becomes a one car team ha just feeling like putting a crazy prediction there......because its fun.

It seems like Henderson is under the impression teams do what MWR did all the time, and NASCAR picked on them for some unknown reason. That seems to be Mikeys take on the whole thing.

auto group at gpc....napa's parent....up over 20% this yr. napa ain't leavin..just new strategy.

Are you talking about all these energy drinks ignoring the blood clotting issues associated with their formulas? Europe has known for a long time and require warning labels and some countries have even banned sales.

Wow. Seriously?
I haven't even heard about anything like that. When I quit drinking coffee two years ago, I started drinking one 5 Hour Energy every morning. I'd better do a little research while I still have the opportunity.

A clever study of 30 young people determined that certain blood properties changed an hour after drinking Red Bull. Basically, researchers had healthy young people drink Red Bull and then took a blood sample. After drinking Red Bull, their blood became "sticky" and was comparable to the blood of someone with cardiovascular disease. The researchers conclude that drinking Red Bull could raise your risk for stroke or other cardiovascular problems.

I think that statement is from the research done in Europe that resulted in some countries banning sales of high caffeine energy drinks.

Wow, that's crazy. I seen people in clubs mixing vodka and Red Bull. That can't be good...

I don't think 1 a day would be a problem, but even one changes your blood for a time. Most hospital visits associated with the products come from over use and combining with alcohol.

Still, with this type of information out there, I think I'm seriously going to consider quitting the 5 Hour.

I believe a while back, I remember a beverage product containing alcohol and some type of "energy" supplement being taken off the market because of reports of health issues.

Think about Vickers. Remember captain Phil of deadliest catch? He started drinking 5 or 6 RB's a day and died of blood clots.

A bunch were banned. Four loco and Arizona had one too.

Plus I think that Phil guy smoked about 10 packs of cigarettes a day, too

True, but the timing was suspicious. Suddenly he gets a blood clot in his lung, then one in his brain. It probably put his body over the edge.

I think there will always be dumbasses that will do just about anything for a "buzz", but there should still be more information available for regular people that just use the products like a cup of coffee.

bobby ----"5 hour energy" ought ta been tha 1st clue ! ha! :sarcasm:

what does this stuff do? I don't drink coffee so no need for 5-hour energy.

5 hour an red bull are 2 totally diff situations.
red bull has $$ ta fight .....an "lifestyle market".
5hr got market share by "impulse space" at checkout counter......plus lawsuits against any competition.

big lawsuit could end 5hr biz........w/ media buzz only......whether claim is right or wrong.
