Jimmie Johnson appreciation thread

No. Why should an active driver/player be allowed to be in a HoF?
Fair enough I respect the reasoning but imo he is removed enough to be considered. I think of his current driving gig as a hobby.

He and Chad are going in at the same time together. Let em whine. Chad is still working lol.

Nascar is just following the Felons demands or orders and they know they better do what Mr H sez if they know what is good for them.

Yep let’s let all of em into the HoF. Let’s induct Kyle right now.
Whoever and whenever they decide to put in the HoF is their business. Fans can accept who they choose or they can whine about it, have a good cry, or whatever.

Correct, the fellon will slow pay his huge fine from last year if they don't play. He definitely paid for both of them to be there.

Yep and an aside Kyle Busch didnt work for the Felon long enough. But if he had we would already be talking about Brexton Busch joining hls dad as a Nascar HoF member this year

He should only be allowed to make a certain amount of starts like Rookie of the Year did to retain HoF eligibility, if you’re going to go by that. NASCAR is allowing way too much gray area here.

If they don't I guess Joe can pray for them.

The Coach's prayers may have helped since it was the first eligible season worth of prayers. Good on him.

But any prayers during the following seasons would have been no better than the ones Barney Vissor got during his last season due to a steep cost increase. I am sure that coach would have kept praying but if the Felon had wanted keep the top tier prayer package for Jimmie he would have had to pay a lot more for those continued bestest prayers.

NASCAR Hall of Fame, class of 2024.

NASCAR put a video together featuring some of the most memorable moments from Darth's reign of terror. :lol2:

Rajah said it best in his interview.

JJ is class personified, great man, and was in his prime a sight as a driver. I love how he is just crossing things off of his bucket list and enjoying life.

First Toyota driver to go in.....okay....I admit it.....totally a troll post. :)

Yeah Johnson is all that, but I was around during Richard Petty's declining years and it was tough watching him lose sponsors and support crews and as time went on, the only time you heard his number called was when he was involved in a wreck or he blew up. To me it looks like Johnson is headed down that same path. I got to get my mind right about that. Like Petty, all Johnson knows is racing, it's in his blood. I wish him well and most of all, I hope he stays healthy doing it. Those two built Nascar in their own way and time period. I do hope Johnson stays in the sport for a long time like his predecessor Richard Petty.

I don't know about Petty, but I think Jimmie is a bit more dynamic than that. His family matters to him. Regardless, he is a man comfortable in his own skin, and I do think pretty self-aware. Hell, he lives in England. Not exactly the epicenter of the NASCAR universe.

So in the era of no testing, a team changes brands and is all but starting from scratch. But with no testing what are they gonna do to get up to speed? Oh wait, this team has a 7 time champ and HOF owner who still can get behind the wheel? Brilliant! Field a car with 7 time and use it as your test mule!

I'm pretty sure Toyota has its own notebook separate from JGR's

I'm pretty sure Toyota has its own notebook to share, separate from JGR's. It will probably cost Legacy extra if they want the special version with teriyaki sauce and wasabi.

It can always be better--track time validates the sim. I think David Wilson is very interested in what Jimmie has to say about the Camry....

To start with just put the same set up as the other car they used and adjust from there. They are all the same anyway, am I correct or am I correct.
Talk to me about what Ford found last year.

You saying they have the same numbers in the wind tunnel? Same H.P., weight bias?
