Between 2006-2010 we were amazed as JJ won 5 championships in a row. How did he do it? Was it all Jimmies driving ability, his team/CC, the rules NASCAR mandated for the cars, the competition, the Chase format at the time? Will it ever happen again? To me it was all the above...if anything it was interesting

For sure it was all the above . Plus some of the other teams fell behind a bit . Gibbs have caught up for sure . SHR and Furniture Row have gotten better . When you aren't winning every week , there must be a lot of second guessing in the 48 team .

One of the biggest 5 years of denial in the history of Nascar.
But Chad!
sniff sniff.

JJ earned it, period. The rest of his team did just fair. this year the gibbs are all fast, why is that? Not only in 1 division but all 3. Something is rotten in Denmark. $OMETHING I$ $ERIOU$LY WRONG IN NA$CAR .............Last one out, turn out the lights!

JJ earned it but Gibbs is not ?

They mastered that Chase format and their competition - I hated it then but respect the hell out of it now. I think it is exponentially harder to achieve that feat with the current points format. Definitely not impossible.

And has Chevrolet not done this countless times before?

It is not fair to change all the rules because JJ was the only driver smart and patient enough not to overdrive his car like the other 42 drivers.
That didn't stop NASCAR from changing the rules because Kenseth did the same thing three years earlier. In that light, the biggest surprise might be that they didn't change the rules after JJ's third or fourth title.

gibbs won last year with 1/2 of a racing season???. LOL Its been said before, " you can make 4 identical cars and none will drive the same with different drivers" that was until last summer when someone "flipped a switch" at gibbs...LOL Maybe thats why the stands are MT? and ratings are in the toilet. The race is on today, I think I'll mow the grass.

The stands were just as empty and the TV ratings weren't much better two years ago when Toyota won 2 of 36 races.
