A “Free Spirit”, “The Life of the Party” and a “Damn Good Racer”, these are just a few of the attributes that those that knew and loved Jimmy will remembered most. Royce Miller, Promoter of Maryland International Raceway stated, “Everyone will miss Jimmy’s fun loving spirit and mischievous antics. There was always a laugh to be had when Jimmy was around. He was a tough racer with a big heart”

A special dedication for Jimmy will be held at Maryland International Raceway on Wednesday night July 30th, at the inaugural Hump Day 10K. Since Jimmy had been involved with the planning and promotion of this race, the race will be renamed the Jimmy Jones Memorial 10K. MIR will donate a portion of every ticket and entry fee to Jimmy’s family.
