JJ Dehydrated? WTF?

I have a new theory, maybe last's night race was so boring that when Johnson got out of his car, he just fell asleep. This whole dehydration story is just a cover up because if a race causes Mr. Six Pack to fall asleep, then things are more terrible than we realize.

LOL

Listen, just because he needs water to operate does NOT mean he is human. Hydro-powered artificial intelligence racing cyborg can't be ruled out.

Exactly.

Or, as someone posted in the race thread, the piece of green kryptonite that was found in his car after the race might have been a factor.

Muscle cramping is a symptom of dehydration and is not a symptom of CO poisoning.
Or A blood clot. They found a blood clot in one of my legs after I was complaining of cramps in one of my legs, they took a sonogram and found the clot. They then asked me if I'd been in a car wreck, which I did in 2002, this was in 2012. I know Jimmy has totaled a few race cars in his career.

Yes but the muscle cramping combined with dizziness is Dehydration 101

It is great Johnson is concerned all his fans have a job as it reduces the number not working and collecting unemployment. Not every NASCAR driver has such great concern for their fans.

I have been hospitalized 3 times for dehydration and I never had leg cramps at the same time.
I passed out last year in the field. 100 degrees and humid. I forgot to hydrate. Terrible cramps in my calves and quads. I had called a team leader when I started to get dizzy. When they came out to get me, I couldn't walk from the severe pain in my right kidney. I spent 5 hrs in the hospital getting fluids. I believe I got 4 liters. They kept taking blood to see if the numbers for my kidney function improved, before letting me go.
I was called on to speak at the next safety meeting

I wonder how much the long green runs factored into things. I assume Jimmie has a regimen for each track and for Richmond, it probably takes into account the fact that there WILL be cautions. The extra work probably strained him.

Dehydration plain & simple. Idk why people are over thinking this.

Jimmie Johnson's dehydration is literally the most exciting/interesting part of the weekend. The crazed fence climber is a close second.

I think the fact is that it's hot inside those cars when they're running out there. I mean the car is already 150 or so degrees inside add the fire suit and the fireproof draws & head sock and it's a sauna. Used to be common back in the day for at least 2 to 3 drivers per race to drop out or get relief drivers because of heat exhaustion. Today's technology has made it more possible for drivers to deal with conditions inside the ****pit, BUT there's still times now & then today when drivers get our of their cars worn out & in need of oxygen. The Coke Zero 400 was moved to night primarily because of the mid day Daytona July heat, it was unbearable, In his final Cup start at Daytona in 92", Richard started outside front row & led the first 5 laps before eventually dropping out of the race due to heat exhaustion. Driving a NASCAR race car is no easy task & even being in the best possible shape still doesn't make you immune to health issues. ..

He was scheduled for a marathon of sorts for the following day. Wonder if his training factored in?

Team Discovers Why Johnson Was Dehydrated

Defending champion Jimmie Johnson says his team found “an issue’’ with the cooling system for his helmet and that caused him to become dehydrated last weekend at Richmond.

Johnson said his team discovered the cooling system was blowing warm air into his helmet.

“It’s nice to have a good idea as to what went wrong and why I got so hot in the race car,’’ Johnson said Tuesday. “It’s a newer system that we’ve implemented, so we’re just going back to our old faithful system that’s worked for years and years. We should have the problem rectified.

How did he not notice during the race that his helmet was blowing warm air instead of cool air?

How did he not notice during the race that his helmet was blowing warm air instead of cool air?

He did.

"There is something that went wrong today," Johnson said. "It could have been my own nutrition plan. I felt like I came in plenty hydrated. We will have to make sure that all the fans and stuff were working in the car. I was warm at the midway point and didn't feel like my helmet fan was working. That could definitely cause an issue."

If that helmet had been blowing warm air on me, I would have been bitching up a storm during the entire race.

I complain a lot though.
Never met a woman that was comfortable with the temp.(especially the blue and grey club at Church)
70 too cold 71 too hot.
