I think the idea is try to be both.
Although, I prefer a driver to walk away instead of cramming their face on front of the camera for no other reason than to blather out the same old rehashed drivel or to simply pump up their egos.
If anyone is interested, try to find some interviews from the likes of Alan Kulwicki, Bill Elliot or Terry LaBonte - to name a few - and you'll see how a man is supposed to handle himself in front of the cameras -most of the time
