Mentioned that he would like to pull the double header and run Indy and the Coke 600. He also mentioned that when he retired, he would like to join the NHRA and run Top Fuel Dragsters.

Didn't John go to one of the drag racing schools? Seems I remember hearing he either went or was planning to go.
John is a pretty good shoe, IMO, but frankly the PE bunch still is not up to par with their program. I would love to see them get squared away but they are missing something.
It probably did not help this season with the standardized body location rule. from what I understand this has changed the Dodge teams set-ups more so than anyone else.

I think John ran a fuel car before his NASCAR days i think he even won once.

On the show, he mentioned he did go to driver's school for Drag racing. He said you work up to a full run. Start with burn outs, then slowly move down the track in distance. You don't run the full quarter mile right away.
He entered at least 1 event. He won 2 matches including one against Amato.
