Just in case you think that it only happens in Nascar . I took a look at the golf a few minutes ago ,they are covering every single shot of some guy named Woods who is like seven shots behind the leaders while barely mentioning the leaders . Bring back any memories?

Most of the leaders are done for they day. Maybe they should follow them to dinner.

I've been watching since they started broadcasting at 3 and all the leaders got a ton of coverage.

I honestly couldn't care lessa about golf. I know guys ho love it, and I've tried it, but just can't get the love of it. But, they often say the same thing about my love of racing

Playing golf and going to races are my favorite things in the world to do. :)

I have to admit that the area you live in has some beautiful golf courses but I only come up there for the snow skiing.

Ya know how Golf would be exciting? Have NFL players running full speed at whoever is about to swing. They have to get the swing off before they get nailed. Hines Ward is retired now, I bet he'd do it.

Maybe they could get Clint Bowyer to drive one of the carts and then have him crowd the other cart drivers while going into the turn by the water...then we'd be able to make golf interesting :D (and probably create 14 more threads on the same subject).

Hmmm

I have heard all the talk about NASCAR being rednecks, etc. while the Augusta National outfit refused to admit Black players until 1990, and they continue to not allow women.

PSA: The Tiger Woods movie called “My Favorite 18 Holes” well don’t get too excited, it is actually about golf.

….I would rather be a redneck.

Golf would be okay if they would have more games like the one in CaddyShack!

Also some of this

because the price is wrong bitch!

Golf is very hard to get interested in. It might be different if you play the game, but the only people I've ever met who actually play golf are multi-millionaires.

 Do you not have many normal acquaintances? At least half the people I've ever known play golf at least a couple of times per year and that includes some rednecks and white trash.

Half my friends at work play golf, and millionaires they ain't. These guys get up at the crack of a Saturday morning to get their early tee times in. And if the weather's nice, they'll be out there hitting a little white ball and walking after it.

I don't think Andy is talking about minature golf. ;)

So.......half your friends are married and looking to get away from the house? ;)

I've played a few games. The most exciting was when a blizzard blew in while we were on the 9th and everyone ran for the club house except us. We got about 2 inches of snow in minutes, and we couldn't see more than 10 feet. So we did some 4 wheeling with the cart (we always disengaged the restrictor behind the first big bush we came by). My approach to the 9th was a bit off, and I rolled the thing on it's side and the starter battery flew out.

That was the best Golf day ever! :D

That sounds fun. I did try once to the driving range withn them. Even with beer though, just didn't get it.

Apparently not. If the weather's nice, people I know are usually in DC or Baltimore, out fishing, riding their motorcycle or bicycle or at a racetrack.

When I read this I could hear banjos playing in the back ground. :D

I would be in the bushes along the fairway skeet-shooting the balls as they pass. That's about all I'd ever be interested in at a golf course.

I play golf occasionally and I have been to a couple tourneys and watched the pros. It's amazing to watch what they can do with a club. Never in my wildest dreams could I match that!

(BTW, Andy, there are no invocations before golf matches either.)

Golf is a very challenging sport. One that is never mastered.

But if there is a race - or even an NBA game on TV, golf will be playing second fiddle...

Most interesting golf story I ever heard was when the local strippers were the caddies for an event.

They got into a cattie fight.

And no the strippers isn't more Tiger snark. But they did say that he tried to tip them with just quarters, and that he wanted 50 cent lap dances.

While I try to think on more virtuous things myself, I do feel obligated to report one other cattie point. They referred to Tiger as "ground beef" not because of the facial beating from the wife, but because he was so cheap.
