Marching orders for ARCA qualifying at Talledega..

Qualifying procedure at Talladega Superspeedway

TALLADEGA AL (10-3-02)

1. Tech line opens 2 hours before first car rolls (12:30 PM)

2. Traffic flow (76 for fuel, shock/plate station, template line to scales)

3. Shock station (Come with no rear shocks; ARCA provides jack, jackstands & shocks. Team provides tools and personnel to install shocks).

4. Plate & spacer station (Come with carburetor and air cleaner off and leave your plate & spacer at your pit stall. Official places plate & spacer on manifold. Team provides tools & personnel to install carburetor and air cleaner).

5. Scale & template station (Maximum 3 minutes at height bar; if over 3 minutes, must leave station and go to end of scale & template line. Must secure front airdam with tape before leaving this station.

6. Any time from this point until car is released, car can be pushed only if an official is with car and only as follows:

a. 3 people maximum plus generator person (cannot touch car)

b. 3 points of contact only: left & right C pillars & steering wheel.

7. With official, push car to pit road position and clear pit road.

8. When 5th in line to qualify, driver can load and 3 crew members can check tire pressures and disconnect generator.

9. Pit road official will check spoiler angle, send car off - 2 laps in succession.

10. Return to pit road under power (next car coming).

11. Stop at quarter panel height & angle check (immediate) - location behind backside of pit road across from 76 station; tire stop marked.

12. If fail height/angle, return to scale-template station. If lift car en route, disallow.

13. Top-10 hold on pit road.

14. When released from height/angle check or top-10, proceed to shock/plate & spacer removal station.

a. Minimum 1 front and 1 rear spring will be rated post-qualifying.

b. All shocks, plates, spacers will be removed before car is released.

c. Vacuum leaks will be checked at random.
 
:D Know we know why the high ticket prices. Somebody has to pay for all those offisials. LOL
 
Does Winston Cup have the same procedures?

Thats quite a bit to go through.
 
If it is the same for NASCAR no wonder why there is always a concern about getting to your qualifying spot on time and getting out on the track.
