Mike Joy might have just dropped the bomb. During Practice today at Kansas he said Kaulig is out at Chevrolet team Performance Meetings.Anybody else catch that?

I thought they'd been out of Chevy meetings since last year when they announced their Ram affiliation in Trucs

Based on their Trucks performance, they're not ready for Cup.

Correct about about out of Chevy meetings but they are using old chassis in trucks with no data so let's wait and see

Dodge! They should definitely try to master the Truck Series first. Their main spotlight focus is literally promoting the Ram Truck.

As so they should. A Charger would be one hell of a looking car. I will say this is the best looking car since Gen 3

Right now I'd say their entry to trucks was premature
If they couldn't get Ram truck chassis ready in time for this season, I don't see how they'll get Dodge chassis ready for Cup next year. Have Kaulig or Dodge officially announced they're running Cup next year? As far as I know, nothing has been submitted for NASCAR approved yet. Are they going to run used Chevys again? Dodge needs to find a second owner; having just Kaulig's two cars isn't going to cut it.

This looks like a government project - announce it, start it prematurely, then maybe take the time to do the developmental work.

I just don’t get where they thought this would work. They have no Sim and from the sounds of it most the chassis are 2 generations behind what Tricon is running. Last I heard was they’re hopeful to have sim ready for July, but one would think there's some growing pains involved as well.

I actually like most of the driver lineup, but I'm afraid guys like Mini will get bounced from the series before they get decent equipment.

I actually like most of the driver lineup,
That's another thing. Cup drivers and crew chiefs have been watching them. I love my boy AJ but he's in his mid 40s. Ty Dillon is year to year and couldn't get a new vehicle to the car wash, much less regular top fifteen finishes. The Truck performance won't attract top tier talent. Whether with Kaulig or a second owner, will even second tier drivers and crew be interested?

Compared to Legacy motor car or whatever they call themselves, Kaulig and the Rams are wildly successful. Compared to sky high Cup costs for everything and a multi car team that hasn't had a driver ranked in the top 20's since they started years ago, Kaulig and the Dodges have two drivers inside the top 20 with the third driver one place away in 21st. Kaulig has total factory support doesn't have to split monies while being last on the food chain like Legacy is. They plan on putting Heim in the junk they drive that is worse than RCR right now.
As long as we are hanging black crepe on the Dodges right now, I think it is too soon to tell. Instant gratification is a wonderful thing I suppose but c'mon the Truck season is half way over.
Haley is in 10th, Queen 14th, Mini 21st, Lajoie with 4 races 28th.

Edit Heim isn't going to Legacy, but has been driving Legacy type junk so far. In the Robinhood Yota this week. Qualified 24th at Kansas.

You are comparing success in Cup with Trucks? There is so much bull**** with this post. Spec engines in Trucks....Legacy is a Tier 1 team--so there is no food chain issue....but you will blow your smoke. ****** post--even by your standards. Do better.

So, who is failing bigger that is the point. Get smarter.

Why compare Kaulig's Truck effort or their pending Dodge program to Legacy, as opposed to any other Cup team?
Why not? Legacy is a disaster compared to Kaulig right now. Tell me I am wrong, not what about this or look over here B.S.. Go ahead tell me Legacy hasn't/ isn't losing their ass right now, are MORE competitive than Kaulig with a half of year in the Trucks right now. Sure I would like to see Kaulig doing even better, but all of this black crepe hanging nonsense is premature right now.
Speaking of Cup that some are indignant of the comparison it appears, take a look at where Kaulig is in comparison to Legacy in the Cup level?

My point is it is way too soon to count out the Dodges in the Truck series. Take a gander at the owner points. Notice far right 6 attempt teams.

Sure, Legacy is a hot mess. I was just wondering why you specifically chose them for comparison over another Cup team. No agenda, just a casual question.

Kaulig's own Cup team would seem a better comparison. Now that you highlighted the standings, Kaulig's top Truckers are ahead of multiple Cup teams besides Legacy in their respective standings. They're ahead of both Kaulig drivers, all three of Trackhouse's, both of RCR's, and both of Front Row's.

Okay.

Not at all when you compare it to who is losing their asses. As I pointed out Kaulig has full Dodge backing in a much smaller investment Truck organization compared to Legacy that is way down the food chain in a horrendously more expensive spot in the Nascar series. So when the talk swings around to a Truck Team with half a season experience it is way too soon to stick a fork in them. Do I think they will be a front runner some day? Not with Kaulig. Somebody like owners Kyle Busch or zippies brother, Heims truck crew chief? Maybe so then. Those guys owning a Dodge team(s) could put one or two trucks in contention to win races consistently. But Kaulig is nowhere's in the shape of some of the teams in Nascar, Trucks, O'reilly, or Cup.

Off topic. One of the rumor mill rats in the series was talking to O'Donnel on a public podcast about some hanky panky going on in the Truck series. O'Donnel said he was aware of it. Neither said what it was, but my guess it involves one or more of the big money Truck teams. I believe the skew in the bodies and other aero tricks the big money teams do are finally getting a look at and next year there will be some bigger changes is my guess.

The Chassis is already done, the same one Ford, Chevy and Toyota are running.

It helps but still the stage gate processes required to properly launch a new drivetrain and engine require years. I don’t see how it can realistically be done within less than three years

Not sure what you mean. The engine may require different mounting points but the drive train will be the same. As far as the engine Dodge has a history of building Cup motors so that's not gonna be an Problem. Dodge is ready for Cup and I expect them to be in next year.
