Kerry Earnhardt in battle with Teresa Earnhardt over name

What a ****. Dude can't use his own last name in a business because this lady married in? Unbelievable. She destroys DEI, breaks ties with all E's kids, and then completely claims the names legacy?

Looks like something that can't be proven or disproved. I never saw Ironheads tax returns released. About the only thing that you could say is that they were married at a time when he was already a Cup Champ and successful race car driver.

Too me, it seems like a silly thing for them to be fighting over. Earnhardt's long gone at this point. She's still living off of his legacy I'd imagine. I don't think a few homes under the title of the "Earnhardt Collection" are going to do anything to change that. Hopefully, they can work things out.
 
The hate is just to one sided in this family quarrel imo. With a lot of people wanting another reason to hate Teresa. With some Kelley bitterness.

People love to go off on Teresa and the demise of DEI, while omitting how poorly Dale Jr drove those last few years.
He was a far greater screw up imo, while also trying to take the 51 percent, that his daddy didn't will to him. Kelley sounds bitter about that failed intercept.

Dale Sr owned the trademark name on Jr, which HE left to Teresa and she later signed it over to Jr a few years after he left DEI. they everyone are riding the name. and for everyone that says how smart Dale Sr was, he left everything to her, so she shouldn't get all the hate she does, but with this situation i do believe she's went overboard.
 
The wicked step mother, that's for damn sure.

How in the world can she think Sr would be ok with any of this.

I agree that it would be nice if they could resolve this amicably. I doubt they will.

Dale Sr didn't give Jr too much himself when he was alive.
 
Next up: a lawsuit to prevent Dale Earnhardt Jr. from using the Dale Earnhardt part of his name. Due to it causing confusion, she'll claim he should just be referred to as "that 88 car driver".

Seriously, she seems like a very petty person.

Nope, you're right, he made him earn it. Quite honestly, I see nothing wrong with that.

But that doesn't mean he'd be ok with what's gone on since he died.

SR said that DEI was formed to build something for his kids.

There is no question that Teresa helped build the brand of Dale Sr, his career really took off after she came around. However IMO that doesn't mean she should be able to treat his children the way she has.

IDK if Theresa saw Dale as a financial catch at nuptials or more as a golden goose who would produce over the course of time. Maybe she thought none of those things but whatever the case it is of little interest to me.

Hopefully Kerry will be able to use his surname in his business name and all will live happily ever after.

I don't know if Kerry, his lovely wife and the guy who owns the construction company understand that attachment of the word / name Earnhardt to their product will add sales in that part of the country or not. :D

It occurs to me that they might and it occurs to me that the significance of it all accrues to the fame of the father and not to Kerry, who, truth be told, is famous only for being his father's son. That's what the trademark / copyright stuff and the revenue streams they protect are about.

There was a poster on another forum who briefly (note use of the word briefly) identified himself as Dell Beerfarts Jr. His account was sanctioned and the reason given was the tone of his rather obnoxious commentary.

But I suspected Teresa right away.

It seems like Dale's kids sans Taylor have any use for Theresa for whatever reasons but IDK why she would have any concerns over Kerry using his surname in his business name. Maybe there is a reason that has not been made public as it is hard for me to believe she would be as vindictive as what she appears to be. I can't see how Dale's estate or Theresa is being harmed monetarily or otherwise.

Kelly has been tweeting this afternoon about this, apparently they haven't seen her since 2010. It sure sounds like his kids, sans Taylor, do not get along with her. Kelly tweeted that Taylor is stuck in the middle in this as well.

IDK what Theresa is up to other than making some lawyers happy and causing Dale to spin in his grave. The whole thing seems nonsensical and very small minded.

IDK what kind of relationship Taylor has with her half siblings but it could be an awkward situation for her.
 
This is a sad situation. I feel bad for Kerry, I've always liked him for no particular reason.

so we are going to blame JR for running bad at a company who failed after he left. Its clear they couldn't stay in business without dale jr being there. perhaps if they were better at running the company they could have been successful without him. that to me says even with dale jr the company was likely not ran very well. Gene haas gave tony half his company, today his half is worth WAY WAY more than the whole company he once had. so did gene do the right thing or not, heck yeah he did. The same thing teresa should have said to herself. giving JR control of the place is better than ALL of nothing right now. There is no company left I don't think Teresa ever really ever wanted to run a race team and she was never at the racetrack.

the stupid thing is I actually think Kelly is a pretty decent business person. Dale jr is also pretty frugal with his money. both would have been a good choice to maintain the family business. Teresa was too blind to see it.

So ,should the Earnhardt dealerships out here worry that they are going to get sued next :laugh:
