Keselowski, Bowyer not elgible for shootout

Johnson had five wins the same year, Newmann got rookie of the year. I bet he feels wierd about that now.

In 2003, Newman had 8 wins, but was in his second year by then. In his rookie year (2002), newman had 6 poles and a win. Johnson had 4P and 3 wins.

Wait, y'all bitched and whined and moaned when they changed it from its original concept of pole winners, and now you're bitching whining and moaning because they changed it back to its original state? o_O

Some people will bitch and whine about anything.

It was a dead heat so I'll bet the panel that voted for RN over JJ feels stupid if its ever brought up.

I don't know if you guys are serious or not with the whole Newman/Johnson ROTY debate but the numbers CLEARLY give the edge to Newman by a good margin. We probably all understand that it's not about what the rookie will do in the future.

Would you please quit spoiling a good off season argument with such nonsense as facts.

I say that because the current cup champion isn't eligible yet drivers like LaBonte, Elliot, and Schader are and haven't won a single cup race in years, perhaps in this century. That's all.

Keselowski must be the most victimized driver in the history of the world and it wont surpise me if someone figures out a way to blame it all on Edwards:D

I don't think it has anything to do with him, other than he didn't win a pole. In years past, Budweiser changed the rules to eliminate the Millerlite car, but this time it was nascar that decided to go back to the old rules.

Bad Brad will get his 15 minutes (er, 12 months) of fame and because of edwards he will fade into obscurity.
Yep, win a pole you race in the shootout, dont win a pole man up, (or woman up as the case may be) and quit ya whinin. Havent heard of a driver whinin about it just the usual bitchers.

And which pole and which shootout was I talking about here Mr. Bumper, Hmmm? ;)

I'm just happy you didn't call me Mr. Smartypants. :p

For me, if you didn't win a pole in '12, or you're not a past winner, you don't get in. Simple.
Agreed.

But, TRL, next year, as you know is 2013 (or so we hope).
A past winner would be considered someone who won in 2012.
I say, let the previous Cup champ in at the very least, right?

By past winner they mean the past winner of the Shootout, not any other race. They wouldn't be talking about anyone that won a race during the 2012 season. You might be getting the Shootout and All-Star race qualifications confused.

I know. But TRL didn't specify Shootout. I thought she was talking about 2012 winners.
I would make an exception.
Not sure how she would feel about that,

Now that I think about it, this thread does specify "Shootout", doesn't it?

Carry on.

You have to win a pole or be a past champion of the race to get in the race, thats pretty much cut & dry & the drivers all know it. I'm sure BK's not gonna let this damper his title defense not to mention Budweiser doesn't give a sh!t, they're probably happy their number rival won't be in their sponsored event...

Right....Rules are really simple, even "most" people here can understand them;)

Advertisers. What a bunch of morons. At least they give me something to watch.
