Do you agree with Kez?
To appoint I do. There are cars on track that will always finish worse than 30 however this is no reflection of the drivers ability. The drivers who can never finish do to wrecks caused by their own mistakes have to be evaluated. Just because they raced a speedway doesn't mean they should have a cup licence. New drivers should be on probation and evaluated every 10 races in their first season.
In the old days if a driver raced foolish and took chances he shouldn't, he was taken behind the hauler and talked to.

We are past the point of being taken out behind the woodshed and given a talking to. Your previous post is right. There is so much money involved now the sponsors control most of what happens.

I’m not tryin to start anything with Brad fans...

but when he makes a statement like that, it makes ME personally remember all the times I felt like brad has done something silly on the track.

and the bottom line of this is, ALL drivers will make mistakes and errors whether accidental or bad judgment... I just hate when this one guy(Brad) has a strong history of getting on his soapbox and preaching down to the rest of the garage.

Not only BK but his teammate too. Then there's KDB who would dive bomb into corners resulting into disastrous results for the guy on the outside.
If you went down the list there would be no drivers who hadn't pulled a bone headed stunt or two [or many more] in cup.

I don't know, drivers making mistakes is part of the drama in NASCAR. I do think they need to make a requirement that you have to run full time in Trucks and Xfinity before you can make that jump to the Cup Series. Houff only ran like 10 Xfinity races and only 5 races in ARCA, I think that is silly lol. I know its about sponsors and money, but it crazy how you can jump to Cup without running a full season in the lower ranks.

Didnt brad take out half the field on a SS not long ago?

right....the "X" factor. good post.
But a full season in the lower series? thats not gonna happen...thats like letting a multi million dollar rookie QB sit on the bench when your current QB is throwing 50 ints

Wasn't Brad himself so poorly regarded early on that someone deliberately put him in the wall at the season's end at Homestead? I recall it was common knowledge it was coming, to the point that Hamlin asked what lap it was to see if he'd won the pool.

Teams don't normally sign multi-million dollar contracts to players straight out of high school.

he has had a few moments that got the fields attention. I first always think about his ‘won’t lift’ thing when he drove through William in a practice session at Daytona. I mean... wtf?!

I wouldn't even focus on things brad has done IF he wouldn’t preach to the garage like he continues to do through his career. All drivers if they drive long enough are gonna mess up...

with Brad tho, I don’t recall everyone making him the spokesperson for Cup drivers. But he hasn’t grabbed the hat and tries to wear it.

Kez isn't speaking out about HIS wreck, he has his nose up somebody else's wreck. He don't say much when he is the bonehead, and neither do the others.

I think Tony called David Ragan a dart without a feather when he first started out. There will always be a learning curve and the guy that gets wrecked will always be mad. NASCAR has ignored numerous situations where a driver has intentionally wrecked or spun a competitor so just have a chat with Q and leave it at that.

Was BK involved in the Houff wreck? I didn’t watch the last part of the race but saw that incident replayed and didn’t think the 2 was involved?
I agree, title or not, when these guys speak like they never had issues when they were dumber or had to drive POS cars, it’s not a very good look. Then when they do something dumb not long after, they look worse. Stick to racing and worrying about YOUR car and team Brad.
Oh, to address his “not lifting” remark, that was in regards to “bad blocks”. Which are common at RP tracks. Prior to his comment (and still since) he left the track on a hook because he lifted when he was coming upon a competitor and they blocked last microsecond and he got turned from behind. I believe his reasoning is I’m just gonna take the offender out and probably myself instead of myself and those behind. Should have just DID it instead of telling people. He’ll probably never live that down.

Brad needs to mind his own business. If he wants to police everyone in a race car ( which NASCAR does already with competition guidelines) then we are gonna lose a lot of race teams. Bid deal about nothing

I take this statement as being elitist and condescending for anyone that aspires to race in NASCAR. This is not how it started or how it grew. Certainly Brad never made a dumb move in his NASCAR career...not once.

Then again, maybe a dozen times....

Brad was on everybody’s sh!t list during that 2014 season.
Side note: I didn't realize Brad was caught up in this incident Sunday.

Brad K vs the field in 2014 is one of the the greatest comedic runs in the history of NASCAR.

Brad K vs the field and Kyle Busch vs Harvick was just some damn good reality television during that time.

Since when did Kez become the ultimate standard-bearer?

Y'all seem to dislike Kaz quite a bit BUT I admire him for what he has been able to accomplish. Here was a kid who's family went broke trying to race. He replaced his brother driving for Junior and against all odds (because the Cup drivers like Hamlin and Edwards) came down to the xfinity races and purposely wrecked him and got away with it. He lost his ride in cup at HMS (bad decision by Rick) and was lucky to have gotten a ride with the Captain. (I suspect Rick asked him for a favor.) As a reward, Penske went on to win his first Cup Championship and was the only team still driving Dodges.
Brad was able to not only help his parents over come their bankruptcy but also helped his brother try to start a team.
This to me is the story of a desperate young man who became successful but it shows he has very good judgement.
Now for those guys who tried to ruin his career before he got started? Well Edwards packed it in after losing his championship on a final lap with a desperate move. Hamlin has lost 2 championships because he chokes at the moment of success and will probably retire as the second coming of MM.

So y'all go ahead and criticize Brad in all your wisdom but try measuring your own success along side his.

^appreciate your fandom

I was the same way with DP. I remember a story of Brad couch surfing while driving for JR in his rookie year.

He looks lie he still does. LOL A lot of people don't remember the struggles he had in the very beginning just from boastful drivers. But he prevailed and now is a Nascar Cup Champion. My all time favorite move was when he split JG and JJ on restart.

We will if you’ll measure your own success along side Matt Kenseth’s.
No problem with that, I was a fan of Matt's going back to before cup.
Matter of fact, up until he pulled that move against Joey I was still a fan.
Now he is just another privileged rich a$$hole to me.

I think a lot of us feel the same way about Brad. We’re not denying his talent or success, just calling him out on a condescending comment toward another driver. That’s what has brought up some of Brad’s past misjudgments.

I think there are 2 separate issues. One is Brad the driver and no one can deny his skills on track as you don't win over 30 races and a championship because you are lucky. I think the second issue is Brad the commenter and unless you are a fan his comments can come off a hypocritical, condescending and at other times just plain stupid. Brad isn't the only one like this as Denny Hamlin is a very good driver with a very good record but he really shouldn't say anything as he comes off like a nincompoop.

I appreciate your passion for Brad the driver and the person as you obviously can relate to him and his family.

Mine too....then JG acts like he NEVER would have done it. Give me a break.....it's called aggressiveness and JG was as aggressive as they come for the win.

That was just a controversial move, and he didn't win. When it comes to best moves for Brad, I think you gotta look at his defensive moves.

There is one particular Talladega race, I can't remember the year, but it was the red scheme, that just blew my mind. Brad was so good on plate races. He blocked the hell out of everyone for a win. To me, that's Brad's best move. His defensive driving for the last like 4 laps of that race.

I have no problem what so ever with Brad's driving. But there are always some drivers that think they are senior "experts" because they have been around for awhile. He forgot he was a rookie once.
