Kimble restores Coca-Cola machines for Coke 600 winners

What the heck do modern kids know? Sodas were just BETTER back in the day. You bought 'em in real stores owned by REAL MEN who pumped your gas and cleaned your windshield too! You opened 'em with tools... none of this pop top stuff kids today pass off as the real thing.

A proper soda bottle back in the day was a beautiful thing, heavy in your hand, and they were all different from each other! The slab-sided abominations we have today... jeez they all look alike without the logos on the can.

Lay a real coke bottle down and roll it. What do you see? REAL STAGGER! These slab sided abominations we have today ain't got no stagger! Sodas were better back then, they just were...

Another thing that needs to be told to the youg'uns is, that you could get from 1 to 3 cents for returning the empty bottles. I made quite a bit of candy money finding and returning bottles that people thru away.
You just took them to the store they counted them and paid you right then and then you spent it right then, hell a deal! :D By the way, a Nickel worth of candy, in the day, was a lot.

There was a show on one of the myriad of TV channels called "American Restoration" if I remember correctly. It was about
a place out in Vegas that restored all kinds of old items. He had a stash of old Coke/Pepsi/Dr.Pepper, etc. machines that just
made me want to run out there and have him do one for me.
