By and large, I'd rather watch old people screw than watch gymnastics, but watching little Kerri Strugg compete with an ankle injury was pretty humbling.
No football, basketball, or baseball unless AA baseball counts as professional. Just races. Thousands at the dirt track, hundreds of what is now the Busch series, and if memory serves, 6 Winston Cup races.
Who do you consider to be the best coach in college or pro's, any sport?
I'd probably have to go with coach Kryzewski(sp?) the men's basketball coach at Duke.
He is a really nice, classy guy who runs a top notch program. He wins many games and championships while facing some of the highest academic standards for recruits. His teams regularly face schools where players are signed strictly for their basketball abilities, with no regard for if they will even attend class much less graduate. And he still comes out on top more often than not. He produces great basketball players and great young men. We could use a whole lot more of that in the college game.
I really like coach Jim Tressell at Ohio State. He won a National Championship in just his second or third year after moving up from Division 1-AA. He also has stressed tradition and character to his players. But, he still has a few too many incidents occuring with his players than I would like.
