Yeah, but it's kind of like NASCAR in that I long for the good old days. I was a huge fan back when guys like Muhamad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Tommy "the Hit Man" Hearns, and Roberto Duran ruled the sport. Most of those guys could really take a shot and keep on coming. A guy like Randall Tex Cobb could need a blood transfusion and still he would keep going out there and take his best shot until the final bell sounded. I understand the need to better protect the fighters as I recall guys like Du Ku Kim(sp?) dying in the ring. Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini was never the same after he killed Kim in the ring. But it just seems as though they aren't allowed to really fight any more.
The inactivity just kills it for me any more too. It used to be there was a good fight on every couple of months. Now guys will go over a year without even getting in the ring with a stiff. Sorry, I am ranting.
