I don't like Kurt Busch, just thought I'd get that out in the open to start with.
If he's guilty, I want him punished for what he did, but I want him to get justice and a fair hearing too.
The sad thing is Kurt is already judged, without the public knowing all the facts. Comments like. "I hope the truth comes out, the whole truth, not just the sugar coated version we are getting right now." pretty much show that. What if the TRUTH is even more minor than this mess being fed to the media? There will be all kinds of accusations of a coverup, even if the REAL truth is the sherriffs dept blew something really minor all out of proportion.
Who fed this story to the media to start with? Looks like it came from the sherriffs dept. to me. It also looks like the stories coming out just from the sherriffs dept. at times are contradictory, and embelished at each telling.
I think when a team owner and executives from the sponsor wake up on Sunday morning and see headlines on CNN as happened yesterday their hand was forced to do SOMETHING, and IMO. that was wrong.
IMO it is a really sad state of affairs if American citizen can't let go of their biased opinions of someone to give them a fair hearing. Sure Kurt isn't that well liked on the race track, so that automatically makes him guilty of what's being reported and even worse according to some very active imaginations with all the "yeah but, what ifs"
If this is how our system works, I'm not to proud to have spent 2 years getting shot at defending it.
This whole mess is like a pack of wild dogs on a feeding frenzy, smell blood and go for the kill.
There should also be a pretty thorough investigation of that Sherriffs dept. and deputy. It would appear they failed to do their jobs properly, they had 2 hours to get the breath test or blood test, they were at the track, there's an infield care center that could've taken a blood test. NASCAR has the capability to do the blood test for alcohol or drugs, they were at the track. I've driven across Pheonix in less time than that, you telling me they couldn't get another tester there in 2 hours? There just seems to be to much BS in these stories, and it needs honest, unbiased investigation.
