Kurt Busch charged with reckless driving

LOL... I can sooo see him saying that...

DONT YOU KNOW WHO I AM who brainless idiot

I"ll have to side with Whizz on this one, i think there is much more to this story than we have read so far. I smell a major scandle here, think about the possibility that Kurt was drunk....all those sponsors they just let back into Nascar, must be on pins and needles right now. If he was drunk Nascar has a major headache on their hands, Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, and all the beer sponsors must be thinking ...OHOHOH... the crap is going to hit the fan. Not only is the image of Nascar taking a major blow here even if he wasn't drunk, there are other implications also. What if Kurt had hit a pedestrian while driving recklessly? I know he didn't , but that could have been a scenario. I say you have to make an example of him because who he is, this guy can't get away with it. I found it so pathetic when Kurt was almost crying during the pre-race interview. Give me a break.....if the public goes for the "poor old me" routine , which i don't think will happen, but say they do, then Nascar has to cover up even more for Kurt. I feel not the least bit sorry for this JERK, he has a track record off the track and on it. I hope the truth comes out, the whole truth, not just the sugar coated version we are getting right now. I also hope Penske drops this MORON like a hot potatoe. Sorry for the rant, but it is time this Kid got what he deserved, maybe , and this is a long shot, he will be a better person and a better driver because of it.

Mopard I don't know if I would go that far with this situation but I can tell you one thing. This story has already made headlines outside of the NASCAR world and that is not good. Regardless of what took place the damage has already been done and Kurt will be the brunt for both critisizm and jokes for some time to come. I mean come on, he drove the Crown Royal car and he will be driving the Miller Lite Car. On my way to work today I was listening to the local news radio station and at the top of the hour ABC News had Kurt's situation part of its top story. They framed it to make Kurt look very very bad. I've already had co workers that do not know a lick about NASCAR ask me about "that Kurt Busch" they knew what he was driving and what he would be driving. Not good for not only Kurt but this will be a blow to NASCAR as well. Now that we have all had a day or so with the story one question comes to mind that was brought up on Wind Tunnel last night. Why and the hell did all this information slowly leak out over the weekend? How's come all of it did not come out at once? As is was stated on the show this Sheriff Department is known for showboating and while that does not excuse what Kurt alledgedly did he chose the wrong place to do it.

I don't like Kurt Busch, just thought I'd get that out in the open to start with.
If he's guilty, I want him punished for what he did, but I want him to get justice and a fair hearing too.

The sad thing is Kurt is already judged, without the public knowing all the facts. Comments like. "I hope the truth comes out, the whole truth, not just the sugar coated version we are getting right now." pretty much show that. What if the TRUTH is even more minor than this mess being fed to the media? There will be all kinds of accusations of a coverup, even if the REAL truth is the sherriffs dept blew something really minor all out of proportion.
Who fed this story to the media to start with? Looks like it came from the sherriffs dept. to me. It also looks like the stories coming out just from the sherriffs dept. at times are contradictory, and embelished at each telling.
I think when a team owner and executives from the sponsor wake up on Sunday morning and see headlines on CNN as happened yesterday their hand was forced to do SOMETHING, and IMO. that was wrong.

IMO it is a really sad state of affairs if American citizen can't let go of their biased opinions of someone to give them a fair hearing. Sure Kurt isn't that well liked on the race track, so that automatically makes him guilty of what's being reported and even worse according to some very active imaginations with all the "yeah but, what ifs"

If this is how our system works, I'm not to proud to have spent 2 years getting shot at defending it.
This whole mess is like a pack of wild dogs on a feeding frenzy, smell blood and go for the kill.

There should also be a pretty thorough investigation of that Sherriffs dept. and deputy. It would appear they failed to do their jobs properly, they had 2 hours to get the breath test or blood test, they were at the track, there's an infield care center that could've taken a blood test. NASCAR has the capability to do the blood test for alcohol or drugs, they were at the track. I've driven across Pheonix in less time than that, you telling me they couldn't get another tester there in 2 hours? There just seems to be to much BS in these stories, and it needs honest, unbiased investigation.

Well said Eagle1..well said......I don't like Busch either but this smells.....

Well that was what i was saying too, it smells of a cover up, and yes i dislike Kurt and his brother also. I am not judging him, im just looking at what happened. Why would Jack take him out of the 97 so quickly if there wasn't something very important, possibly something that violated his contract??? I don't buy the angle that the Sheriffs' department screwed up, but then again it could have happened, i buy the angle that the whole thing was covered up. Just my take, and i think that is why the information about this incident was so slow to get to the media. Nascar didn't want it to leak out. Just my DH opinion here, i encourage rebutals!

Honestly I think Jack has wanted him out of that ride for some time now and was just looking for an out. Remember, Kurt told Jack that he could "shove it up his arse" at Kansas when he would not give team order for Kenseth to pull over and allow him to lead a lap.

I agree with you 100%.
I posted back at the beginning of this Chase, (on another board) that I thought with 2 or 3 races left in the Chase Jack would pull Kurt out of that car. Jack didn't really need a reason, Kurt's his employee and as long as Jack paid him Kurt couldn't do anything. Why would Jack be willing to drop from 8th in points to 10th? Because he can!
This incident gave Jack a real excuse without being burned at the stake by the media, plus he might even have legal grounds not to pay Kurt for the rest of the season. That could offset the points money from 8th to 10th. A real win - win situation for Jack.

Boy I may just have a reason to tune into the Awards Banquet this year.

All our speculating isn't going to get us any closer to the TRUTH about Friday night.
Was Kurt an azz? More than likely. (leopards don't change their spots) Will the Court sort things out? Will Justice be served? Will money change hands? Will WE ever know the whole story?
Yes, No, No, Yes, NO............in order

JMO but I think it's pretty close. Your miles may vary...........

It would be nice if the real story came out. Everyone is speculating on what happened and it is not fair to those involved. However, even is he wasn't drunk, he needs to learn a lesson with his belligerence. Very few fans, I think, would be hurt to see him lose his ride.

It has to be a court certified Dr/RN to take blood for a DUI. Anyone can draw blood and test it, but before the blood can be admitted into evidence, a certain court recognized medical personnel has to draw it.

Not trying to make excuses why blood wasn't drawn, just possibly trying to answer some questions....
