Kurt gets a new CC

The only thing that has recently blown up in RCR is tempers & wheels. I think their engines are fine.

harvick had 4 wins, how many did RFR racing have?? how many did penske have, oh ok RCR nearly equaled the wins of both companies together. thats against the famous yates power. you guys place too much stock in how much difference an engine makes. pocono, michigan, california and of course the RP tracks thats about the only place you can see a difference in motor. if we are talking motor differences and you wanna throw in like say a triad motor compared to a TRD engine in the cup series. ok there your going to see a difference.

I do. ONnly because of how well he has done two years in a row in lower tier equipment. He's been through the ringer the past few years.. I think giving him a Hendrick engine is going to be very good for him.

You do know that Harvick and Busch had the exact same equipment this year right?

I was about to say this. If bad equipment gets you 4 wins and a 3rd and 10th in the chase I'd take that as an owner. Also Kurt 's new team, the old 39, finished 11th one spot behind him.

While I do agree Hendrick had the best equipment right now, let's not overlook the equipment Kurt was in this year. Kurt drove RCR equipment and had all the resources that Harvick had.

It can't be said enough , that in an era when teams are buying their engines and chassis' from someone else , the difference is in the supporting casts . The crew chief , the shock specialist , the tire specialist , the over the wall crew , literally dozens of people . Hendrick has the best , that's why they are good .The driver/crew chief relationship has always been an incredibly important factor and something that normally takes a year to build . Teams often make changes before season end just to give this relationship a couple of extra months to get started. My question is , quick , who is Kurt's crew chief ?

RCR equipment is decent, it might not be the best but it was good enough to win with; see Harvick. FRR lacked some of the auxiliary pieces needed to compete at the very top level.

The problem Busch had this year is likely the same problem he will face next year. His crew, where are these guys going to come from? A brand new CC and an entire team from scratch doesn't give me confidence he'll have the supporting cast he needs.

There's no doubt that Kurt can get the most out of his car but you need ALL the pieces in place if you want to contend on the Cup level. For SHR to go from 2 teams to 4 in a span of 12 months makes me question where they are going to find all the necessary man power to be able to field 4 competitive teams, especially considering that they don't have any developmental Nationwide or Truck programs to pull from.

kurt is the third best driver at SHR. Tony number 1 and Kevin number 2.

The alliance includes technology sharing, engineering, research and development provided to FRR's No. 78 Chevrolet from RCR.

It sounds pretty much like the same deal HMS has with SHR.

Where do RCR and FRR get their chassis's?

Prety sure that RCR and FRR produce their own. Someone will be along to correct me soon I imagine.

I thought that Stewart Haas bought their chassis' too . They only hang the sheet metal , do the tires , suspension ,etc., at least that's what I recall hearing .

Yeah. Steward Haas gets their chassis and engines from Hendrick and RFR gets theirs from RCR.

It's not just reliability, it's performance. Like sliced toast said, RCR is the only engine builder doing it themselves. They are probably dwarfed in money spent by HMS, RoushYates and TRD's engine programs.

I'm no RCR fan but I don't think ECR engines are a problem, it was only a couple years ago when they were winning all the plate races with Mcmurray, Harvick, and Bowyer. I think Chevrolet has been giving them enough support on the engine package to remain solid and competitive. I think RCR's problems stem more from the driver talent (or lack there of); and getting behind on some of the other technology ie. chassis skew and the rear gear stuff teams were running. I'm sure there's other innovative tech I'm not aware of as well.
