Has the fuse for his annual implosion been lit?

During the race, the commentators noted that he was normally mature but today, in the later part of the races, he became immature and angry. This came after a speeding penalty, a pit road miscue and a driver error on pit road and, on the track, Kyle couldn't get the job done.

Is this a sign of things to come? Is Kyle gonna get more frustrated since he isn't winning races? Is his bad performance in Nationwide affecting him? Or does the bye week give Kyle time to calm down, get his thoughts together, get his head back in the game and continue to chase the wild card?

He wasn't anymore "angry", etc then he has been in any number of races this week. Pit reporter reaching for a story.

They aren't consistent enough to be chase contenders.

Oh wait, didn't Tony say that last year?

It would be too soon for the Kyle Busch meltdown, it usually starts in the Chase ;) While he hasn't had a Kyle Busch type of season, they haven't been giving him very dependable cars. He lost 3 straight motors at some very good tracks for him. He's also cost himself some points by not taking what he could get like Sonoma when he got into Menard in the closing laps and went from top 5 to 17th. Looking at the schedule, I think Kyle can easily win one or more so I think he'll make the Chase easily.

"... Kyle had every right to get frustrated at the car, and he never did. He did a great job of keeping his emotions in check and driving with the talent he has -- it just didn't pay off today." ~Dave Rogers

Kyle Busch will be the most interesting to watch during this WC contest. There are 5 guys in the top 10 by 55 points or less, including Harvick. One DNF and they could fall out.

It most always starts in the car for a few races then eventually erupts out of all of his orifices.

Anyone remember 2009 when Kyle was in a similar position and intentionally wrecked himself at Chicago?

We're about to see truthfully how sincere Kyle is about changing his attitude and being more mature.

He is definitely more mature than before, the anticipation of the I told you so Buzzards will remain though, while disregarding the progress.

Time will tell. It is certainly no more than 50 - 50 either way.

His year so far has been less than stellar.

The thing with Kyle is, he has fooled me 2 years in a row. In 2010, he kept his cool until he went off on Reutimann. Last year, he almost made it the whole year, then went off on Hornaday. I still won't trust him until he makes it through the year without going bonkers.

Kind of sad though , if he doesn't go off and manages to keep his cool. It means another free spirit has been tamed . The kind of fiestyness that you are looking for from Danica has been beaten out of Kyle.

Thats not feistiness, thats assholiness to the nth degree, in my esteemed opinion.

You do realize you could drive a truck through the gap between fiesty and crybaby throwing tantrum...right?

I NEVER want to see Danica act like Kyle when he shifts into jackass mode. I don't miss it. I'm not sad. I don't watch old video's of Kyle spinning, wrecking and wall slamming rookies out of their first win. I don't reminisce about the days of Kyle complaining that fans should love him more than Jr, or rubbing his eyes and taunting crowds with pathetic cries for love.

Please tell me you don't either.
