Kyle Petty:“I’m sick and freaking tired of hearing Kyle Busch, 98 NASCAR wins"

Show me where anyone bashed KYLE BUSCH. I believe all complaints were about the media.

Come on, man...wasn't your moniker "board a**hole" last week? To me, that is not an indication of your positive contributions to the forum. I'm sure if we were to have a poll to vote on the most argumentative, negative, bashmaster on the forum you would take top honors, handsdown. Just sayin'...

As I've said before, the "Board a**hole" was an inside joke with another poster on the board.

I so don't look forward to next race oh boy 100th win coming -__-

but cause of another Nationwide win

This nonsense about Kyles total wins being compared to cup wins of other drivers started on Fox, and DW was a big part of it. I'm glad KP said what needed to be said, and surprisingly KB's #1 nut hugger, DW, agreed.

My point was that Kyle Petty sucked as a racecar driver, so him talking negatively about another driver is a joke.

Kind of a worth nothing nitpick, but I'm coming to the defense of Kyle Petty (as a driver, not his comments because we've been down this road enough). He may have floundered for quite a while, but a guy with 8 wins, and a solid number of top tens and laps led to compliment, most certainly did not suck. Plus, he was the guy that put Felix Sabates on the map. A more than respectable career by most accounts.

My thoughts on Kyle Bush is that even though alot of his wins were not from the so called prestigious Spit Cup series, it shows that he is a true racer and will race when he has 4 wheels and a steering wheel. You don't see many of the Sunday drivers willing to climb behind the wheel very often for anything less than mega bucks they can receive from the Cup cars.I'm much more impressed with the fact that Kyle ran Thursday, Friday and Saturday nite and was heading to a short track on Sunday to race than with the fact that someone has 50 or more Nascar wins and only runs the elite Cup series.

A couple of years ago I was at my local dirt track and Carl Edwards and Clint Bowyer paid a visit. Carl didn't bring a car to drive so a couple of local drivers offered him a ride in theirs. He not only drove in the Super Late model class, but climbed into one of the cars in the lower divisions and was very impressive in both races. To me that is what makes me a fan of a driver, someone who has a love for racing and is willing to race in any division and be more acessible to the fans of racing without the big bucks.

Drivers like Kyle Bush, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Tony Stewart, and Ken Shrader are what I consider racing to be all about. How often do you get to see any of the Hendrick drivers at your local tracks? I think they spend too much time trying to be the pretty boys of Nascar and fail to realise that this is a fan sport and need to diversify and mingle with the not so fortunate at the local tracks.

So before anyone tries to downplay Kyles impressive stats I hope that they will consider that it probably pretty demanding on a driver to run as many races as he does and be as sucessfull as he is. I know Kyle Petty never had those kind of impressive stats and even thoughs that was born with a silver spoon into racing like him and "Lil E" will never have those kind of stats.

Bravo! Very well put, and spot on.

Whats that got to do with anything. Eli Gold, Bob Jenkins and Jerry Punch have NEVER driven a race car.

What? What does that have to do with one driver a mediocre race car driver talking about another race car driver?

I have a few problems here...

1. When did anyone say that 98..or now 99..wins across the three series was comparable to number of wins in the cup series?! I must of missed something on that one! I have heard the media talk about how remarkable those 98..now 99..wins are...but never have I heard ANYONE say it was comparable to someone who has won 80 or 90 races in the cup series.

2. Who gives a care what Kyle Petty says?!? I am not trying to just berade Kyle, but really??! I think Petty may be jealous more than anything...

Not a damn soul.

Someone just feels like being a whiner.

Late last year, Kyle hit 82 total wins, and Fox made a huge deal of telling everyone that Kyle was now tied with Jeff Gordon for career wins (which was really odd, considering they failed to count Jeff's NW win). They didn't even bother to make the distinction that most of Kyle's wins were in the minor leagues while all of Jeff's 82 wins were in the major league. That is EQUATING nw and truck wins with Cup wins.

This nonsense goes back even further. KB was asked if he could ever match Richard Pettys 200 wins, and he said that his goal was to get there with total wins across 3 series. DW picked up on it, declaring 'Kyle is amazing, and I think he will eventually match and break Petty's win total'.

WTFreak? Kyle is a great driver, but he's not even close to Jeff Gordon. Jeff totaly dominated Cup for years, with a 4 year stretch where he won almost 20% of the races he ran. KB's first 7 years in cup don't come close to many cup drivers. Until he leaves the minor leagues to minor leaguers and concentrates on getting his win fix in cup, he'll continue to be the best cup driver...in Nationwide and Trucks. It's a huge waste of his talents. He KNOWS that he can't beat JJ, Denny, Jeff, Tony, etc, so he runs off and wins somewhere else. When those drivers show up for a NW race, Kyle rarely wins. Check the stats.

I also feel that Carl wastes his time in NW. After 2 or 3 years in Cup, it's time to move out of the minors and run just a few of those races.

Agreed 100% :beerbang::beerbang:

Comparing apples to oranges. If you're going to count # of wins why not throw in Dick Trickle?

FOX and SPEED do, very often.

My reply to just about this whole thread, and in particular Andy and Pagan...
