Naw, ain't into no rally racing either.

And you oughta know me better than to ask about some Corvette series.

I'll restate it. Winston Cup. Dirt late model, along with whatever other divisions the local track puts on. The rare 10 minutes here and there of truck racing. That's it. Nothing else. Nada. Zip. Zilcho. Not happening.

Maybe that makes me less well rounded than other arce fans. Big whoop. I'm happy, and that's all I really care about. Don't need glorified go-karts buzzing through city streets. Don't need compacts humming through the woods. Don't need NOTHING about nobody's Corvette. I'll let you enjoy all that for me.

Ok, I was just wondering...as you said you only watch racing with fenders. There are lots of other series' with fenders and stock cars.

Is it only series' that run strictly on roundy-rounds?

Or series that only run "American" "stock" cars. ;)

Seriously, my favorite series is NASCAR too.

Does it matter?

Where'd ya get that fishin liscense, Paul? Better get a refund, cuz you ain't gonna catch nothing here. :p

I knew you were gonna say that, but I'm seriously not fishing. :p

I'll admit it, because it seems no one else will.

Like WindyCityRacer said, I like NASCAR because it's more entertaining than the other series'.

When I'm watching NASCAR, I'm following a story. When I'm watching CART, Rally, F1, IRL, Lemans, Touring, WoO or any other series I'm concentrating on the cars, the track, the engines, the skill, etc etc...it's a very series venture watching those series.

I'm not gonna say that it's because the cars are American, because we all know that's not true.

I'm not gonna say it's because the cars are stock, because we all know that's not true.

:)

I don't know why I'm not a fan of CART. I grew up watching the Indy 500 every Memorial Day --- couldn't wait for the month of May.

I love the IRL races --- the close finishes and tight racing is fantastic. Maybe it's the lack of passing on the course that turns me off on CART, since it seems most, if not all passing is done in the pits.

I love the sprints, midgets, Silver Crown, and Outlaws --- be it on dirt or pavement. Drag racing was my first love. I love a good truck race, too.

I can't say that I'm a fan of F1, but I do watch. The Rolex24 at Daytona each February has me watching.

'Tis a puzzlement why I'm not a CART fan.

That what I do too. I'm fascinated by the technology in F1 but think the racing sucks. I'm sure if I learned alot about F1 or any other racing series like I know NASCAR it would interest me just as much. But I'd rather follow NASCAR because it appears to be the best series in the world in my eyes.

Rally is great.....F1...well this was my first year of trying to watch it.......it would be hard for me to really say that i enjoyed F1..because of the dominance.......but i'm going to watch it again....i know its going to have some good racing.....so i'll watch it.

I am a fan of Nascar and IRL. I was never really interested in Cart, don't know why. Next season I plan on watching more races though. I used to
always watch the INDY 500 with my dad, it was like a tradition.

Yup, Rally is amazing. The punishment they put those cars through is amazing, such endurance. The best car manufacturers in the world prove their worth in the Rally series.

Paul, all i have to say is..........Thank you Speed Channel!!!.......without speed channel.......my ass wouldnt be able to see any Rally

Like I have said before, if I had to race any kind of racecar, it would be a rally car. You get the best of all worlds: pavement, dirt, rain, sun, and not a smooth road.

ok......anyone who takes a car going that fast on a dirt road...on the side of the mountain..........balls.....thats balls

Along the side of cliffs, you name it they race it.

In real stock cars too!

exactly.......gotta love NASCAR........but there aint nothing stock about a stock car anymore

at least Rally cars are Stock

Lots of stuff to watch for a Ford fan too...which is why I'm surprised more diehard Ford fans don't watch other series to see their cars shine. Rally, Lemans, Touring...those series all show the cars doing bleeding edge stuff.

ok they have dift paint jobs and roll cages..........those cars are basically street cars.

Some rally cars are...depends on the division and series.

World Rally Cars like the Suburu pictured at the top of this forum are $250,000+ a piece, super-duper weight-reduced compact race cars with F1-like technology...they're not what I would call "stock"

You will never heard a nascar fan admit that they watch nascar only because they like a certain driver.

nascar fans will always try to smokescreen you with some imaginary ford vs chevy war.

or they will smokescreen you with some "I only like stock cars".

Those are both bull...if they were really fans of a certain kind of car they would follow it in all sports.

If they were really a fan of stock cars then they would watch ALL series that are running stock cars.

the real reasons:

they are watching a different version of the WWF, with cars instaed of wrestlers.

JUST MY OPINION

out where i live, unless you have a satilite(sp) dish you can't watch Cart.. or anything but WC and some IRL races.. i would watch Cart if i was able to.

Yep, and I watched F1 and didn't like it. This is the first year we got satellite and I try to watch as much rally races as I can. But I still feel clueless about it all. Cart and IRL are just like F1 and is the most boring racing on earth to me.

Ramius, I don't watch NASCAR for the make of cars. I have my drivers, and I would root for them if they were driving Yugos. LOL

The make of car has no bearing on the racing for me.

The fans have balls too!! Ever notice that they stand right in the middle of the track to get a picture and then jump off to the side of the track just as the car is going by ? The fans at those races are just about as ballsy as the drivers!!

If it has wheels and is going fast I will watch it. If there was no other racing on I would probably watch lawnmowers drive around in circles:)

The main reason I would say CART has faded is because it is hard to see the races on tv. I saw a few races on cbs earlier in the year and watched them flag to flag, but without a large tv audience every week it is not worth it to a sponsor to have their logo on a car. The IRL has a deal with espn/abc and that is one of the reasons why they are so successfull, with more media exposure more people will tune in and start following the series closely.

Hey TN-ward-fan sounds like theres a few people trying to get you into an argument about your racing preferences LMAO

Nah, TWF swam away pages ago leaving my hook just sitting in the pond...

:fish:

Paul is on a mission to expose my closed mind to the outside world. :D

None of the above.....

The cars are no enuf like billboards. They are simply too small.
