Let's see those faces, revisited

Learning to play the guitar isn't rocket science but it is not an easy thing to do mechanically. But, I have seen some people struggle mightily at the beginning and end up being exceptional guitar players. It is all about making the time to practice every day

Wish I could play guitar, but its literally impossible for me. I have something called radialulner syspinosys (spelling) it basically means I can't turn my hands over

That is as far as I can turn my hand over. So no guitar for me.

I actually only learned there was a name for it a couple months ago, I always thought I was just really inflexible. Apparently for some people it becomes a pain problem that requires surgery. Luckily Ive never had that issue, I just cant play guitar and have trouble getting change at drive thrus.

I've always wanted to learn guitar but I am afraid I am not talented enough to read music.
I'd love to learn. I have small hands but I'd love to try.
The vast majority of people I know who play can't read a note. Guitar is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play. Mastering it is a different story. Wanna know why I play bass? I'm a really lousy guitar player but I still enjoy playing it. As far as the tiny hand thing, they make 3/4 size guitars for that reason. You can get a guitar with a skinny fingerboard. Now young lady I suggest you go to a music shop and get ready to rock.

I did not know they made skinny fingerboards. I am positive I cannot play a regular size guitar. My daughter says I have sausage fingers. I have ugly hands, sorry.

Absolutely, Lisa. They are called 3 quarter scale guitars and they are generally cheaper than full size guitars

When you go to look at a guitar please get ahold of me and let me give you a few things to look at before you spend a bunch of money on something that is difficult to play. Not all guitars are created equal.

Is that you?

That's me. Got into starting races by accident. I had my own stock car for two years and it seemed like all I did was work to spend money to race. In 1958, I was at a small dirt track at Beech Lake, PA (near Honesdale) on a Saturday night, the cars in the race we were in just sat there, lined up on the track waiting for the race to start and nothing was happening. We sat there a good ten minutes, music coming from the loudspeker system when the track announcer said, "Folks, our starter just quit so if anyone is interested in starting races, come to the office."

I thought this was a good opportunity to go to the races, have some fun while getting paid and not the expense of the stock car so I seized the moment. The guy who helped work on the car was standing by the car when the announcement came and I asked him if he wanted to drive and I would start the races. He jumped in, I jumped out, and the rest, as they say, is history. Got paid fifteen dollars a night for starting the races there.

Was Circus Maximus a NASCAR track back then? Did Spartacus drive the black #3 chariot?
