'Lord of the Rings' fans don't want to watch a NASCAR race

I made a tweet about it before hand and someone retweeted it, and made a tweet after saying how they'd get more ratings keeping LOTR on, I told them how a fan of the movie should have the movie and how Nascar was a live event.

I told them Sunday's race was the first installment of the LoTR prequel trilogy. It showed the early lives of Sauron (Rick Hendrick), Saruman (Jimmie Johnson), Gríma Wormtongue (Kyle Busch), Gandalf (Roger Penske), Frodo Baggins (Brad Keselowski) and Gimli (Jack Roush).

Then they all have questionable taste and we have impeccable taste.
Right on, sister! :punkrocke

They can brag about the fact that their movie marathon would have gotten higher ratings (and apparently did) all they want. That's fantastic, but it has nothing to do with why the marathon was pre-empted by the race. As Blaze alluded to, a movie or syndicated show will almost always get pre-empted by a live event whenever a scheduling conflict occurs. If they wanted to see LOTR so bad, it has been readily available for rental or purchase everywhere for years now.

That's hilarious! Now mind you, I'm a LOTR fan. But as such, I'm also smart enough to know that LOTR (along with any other epic movie marathon, such as Star Wars) is NOT to be watched on TNT. You think NASCAR races have a lot of commercials? Think again.
I can't stand to watch any movie on TV these days, unless it's like HBO or TCM and commercial free.

Those LOTR movies are like 3 hours long each. Plus commercials, and all three in a marathon in a Sunday? They should thank NASCAR for saving 12 hours of their life on a nice Sunday. Although, pretty sure we probably pissed away 12 hours with all that waiting around for rain delays.

Damn, they sound just like a lot of us here on racing forums when something doesn't go our way.:D
