Loudon Bonehead of the Week

I think ted is probably just caught up in the constant negativity, just like I get. Sure, there's no problem in everyone expressing their opinion, that's what this place is for. He's not doing any different. You're not doing any different. I'm not doing any different. Heck, I like most every race that's on television so it gets old to me too when I read how awful most all the races are. Especially when I attend one and then get back to read the board's opinion. That's one of the reasons that I stay away from the race threads until the next day. I don't realize until I read those threads or the 'rate the race' thread that I'm not supposed to like what I'm watching.

You do need a break, dpk. Rate the race isn't supposed to be taken as instructions on how to think.

I guess when I read the constant low rating I have to wonder why I am so easily amused by what I'm watching. It could be the alcohol I suppose. Maybe all of you are just watching these races with the wrong crowd?

Well. just returned from the most boring race I have ever seen in person at Loudon. Saturdays racing was more interesting than that snoozefest Sunday. Very up in the air about next years renewals. Now, I have to clean out the camper of all the wife's #11 Gear, and listen to her gloat all damn week...

Now she'll be doing that damn ruthian point whenever she want's something. ;)

Are Nascar fans the only fans who sleep during the races ,or watch something else and then gripe about it being boring afterwards? Nascar fans have gone from being the best fans in sports to being the worst fans.

My brother sleeps during most races. Back in the late 80s he took a nap while Earnhardt had a big lead. So we told him when he woke up Dale was down 15 laps after getting service behind the wall, as they showed him running way out front alone. It took him a while to figure it out. We all were Dale fans.

Shame to read you had a bad time. Oh, and if it's only a week that your wife will gloat, you're getting off lucky.

I'd just stay in the camper for the week:D Sucks you didn't have good time. Loudon used to race a lot better before the COT as did many tracks. The modified race was good on Saturday.....even though Donny Lia kind of gave it away making a move inside way to soon on the restart:(

Well, never said I didn't have a good time. HOT PASSES made up for Sunday, and I had David Hoots sign my HOT PASS with his famous phrase,"Put it out''!
Will post pics later on..And the gloating continues on her end...

We are more in touch with this sport than we have ever been. With the internet and 700 channels on TV, we get news before news happens. Go back to the sixties or seventies and pick a race, any race. Take a look at how many cars were on the lead lap. Take a look at how many laps ahead the leader was. Take a real close look at how many cars finished the races back then. I hear about aero and to me I think these cup cars are almost identical, dang near the same engines, tires and packages. You can't expect a ton of passing when the packages are identical.

What Hamlin did yesterday was nothing short of amazing to me.

I see better racing today than I ever have.

Johali and Ted, a toast from me.... ;)

Loudon's gone from one of the best races to one of the worst races.

When was Loudon one of the best races? I must have missed it. Loudon is too big at 1 mile, and lacks banking for 3450 lb cars.
Everyone loved loudon when it opened in '90, hey a na$car track in our backyard! Whoopee! Add in Kenny Schrader, Jimmy Spencer and others jumping in a borrowed mod and racing at Thompson, or in a Pro Stock at Seekonk the night before and we had some fantastic weekends! Then the track weathered and it was "ring-a-round the rosie" racing.
Turn it into a Bristol or Dover with some banking so they can really race. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

5 at Martinsville 5 at Dega?

OH HELLS NO!!!
And remember, this is NOT the thread in which to restructure the Chase! ;)

BONEHEAD(s) of the week in New Hampshire; The FANS who could not keep their sandwich bags and hot dog wrappers under control in the windy conditions. Fortunately, their laziness did not have an impact on the outcome of the race!
