I am more than happy with whoever sings it/plays it, as long it is not that little girl who sang it in Vegas in '99, it took a friend of mine a couple of weeks to get his cat off the ceiling after that one.
Mariah is black?Damn ,Now there is a good reason to hate her.Mariah is a fox,And making more than I do singing in the shower. You go girl. And another one is Paula Abdull. She is a talent to gaze at also.
"Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean, I'd love to be skinny like that but not with all those flies death and stuff."
I'll be part of the minority and let it be known that I have every one of her CD's , I find her to be one hot woman, and I look forward to her singing the national anthem. (Shrug)
AS far as can see she does not present a good image that Nascar is looking for. I know she can sing, especially when she does not elaborate on style and sings a song the way it should be sung. I know Nascar wants to diversify, but i just don't think she is a good choice , hope she proves me wrong.
Here's the deal...yeah, NASCAR is trying to diversify. I guess they are wanting to get everyone involved with the sport. More power to them if they can, but I don't think this is the way to do it. Also, how do you think the crowd would react if Brooks and Dunn did the anthem at the NBA All Star Game? Hey, I liked Hendix's version of the anthem, but that's just me. Don't reckon that would go very far at the local VFW dinner though.
I don't care who sings the anthem........AS LONG AS THEY SING THE WAY IT WAS WRITTEN. Everyone feels they have to put their personal twist into it.......but that is one song that I think should be left alone. It's a difficult song to sing as it is.........I truly believe most put their personal stuff in it because they simply can't sing it. My opinion is: If NASCAR can't find someone who can sing it, then do an instrumental version.
