Martinsville Let's Talk About It

Hey now don't y'all go bad mouthing JC, uh I mean JPM (he is the next coming don'cha know). How any one of the other 42 drivers would dare get in his holiness' way, well Raines deserved to be black flagged for even being that close to the Juaness...

While hopefully I'll be singing Jerry Lee Lewis's You Win Again when Jimmie crosses the finish line.
The news is out all over town
That you've been seen out runnin' around
I know that I should leave, but then
I just can't go,
You win again.

:D

That's actually a Hank Williams song.

All I'm going to say is this Car of Tomorrow thing seems to be a huge benefit for Hendrick and a huge setback for the two and three car teams. NASCAR needs to make some changes to level out the competiton or they're going to see a lot of fans go to IRL. It's absolutely ridiculous, here we are six races in, that one car has one half of them, and one team has won all but two races. I'm going to be watching a lot less Nextel Cup if this keeps up. Nobody wants to see the same guy win every week. I was pulling for Junior but it seems somehow a Hendrick car got lucky, again.

COT benefits the best drivers by leveling the playing field with the equipment. As a Junior fan and sworn enemy of HMS, this is very painful to say, but Gordon, Johnson, & Kyle Busch are three of the best drivers on the circuit. Your argument that it's helping the big Hendrick team is lacking. Roush's teams haven't been so hot in the COT, and they're even bigger.

I couldnt really tell who was at fault..if any
on that one.

Montoya dumped him, plain and simple. They were side-by-side for a couple laps, rubbed a couple times, & Montoya got pissed that Raines got by him. He dive-bombed it in there like he did when he wrecked Pruett, only this one was more obvious.

Junior said it himself, he used up his stuff trying to keep the lead before the rain came. Solid race and glad to see him out front for so long.

Gordon needs to man up and take what was rightfully his. His car was by far the better of the two, but he was being too nice to his teammate.

Well I only want to see my guy out front last lap turn 4 on. All the rest is just window dressing.
As to Gordon, you don't dump a team mate. All you have to do is look back a few years at Daytona with Mikey leading and Lil'E pushing. Or, should Lil'E have dumped Mikey. He obviously doesn't agree with you. ;)

Why dont this surprise me....

You took what I said to the extreme. He didn't need to dump JJ, but he was barely putting the bumper to him. He would've treated anyone else much differently.

Daytona & Martinsville are two totally different monsters. Trying to compare the two is laughable. If Mikey & Junior were in a similar situation, I wouldn't expect either of them to hold back and would say the same thing that I said about the Gordon/Johnson situation.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean...

Don't forget the BIG picture.
Gordon is leading the points.

Does anyone remember at Martinsville one year Rick Hendrick had two drivers wreck each other on the last few laps, maybe the last lap. I have racked my mind tring to figure out who they were. It was before Gordon's time I think. Help I am getting senile. Used to I forgot nothing when it come to NASCAR racing.

Umm Montoya...dumping Raines. That dont surprise me.
Not a fan of Montoya's...

I like him and think he is a hell of a racer, so he races hard , pushes a few guys out of the way...who doesn't in Cup?

You know i was thinking 'bout that.

Lets say Jeff Gordon is the Points Leader at the end of 26 races and he doesn't have a win, and the others have aleast 1..that would mean that he would fall from being the Points Leader to being a bottom feeder when the chase begins..no?

The way they made the new Chase sucks.

Who is? All Montoya fans raise their hands. LOL:bounce:

I actually liked him abit.

But when he pulled that little stunt at Atlanta when he shaked his fist at Robby and Jeff for racing him hard, i lost what little respect i had for him.

Maybe he should go back to F1 where lap cars literally park their cars to let the leader go by. That's not going to fly on NASCAR.

I don't know. Is that the way it works? Anyway it don't matter because he will win before long. When he does you will hear me scream all the way to New York.

If he wins you be hearing me scream to. But it might not be so pleasant :)

I was under that impression, they will put the driver that has the most wins ontop of the points.

I'd be sure to grab my ear plugs when he does, i know you'd scream very loud when he does win..lol

That could be true.
