Matt Kenseth

Jeff Gordon would have to climb up on his mommies shoulders just to kiss Mat's ass.

Hard for me to imagine that there isn't enough engineering strength between TRD and JGR to figure this thing out. I really believe that this is about 1) A tight condition brought about by the 0 Ride Height that the JGR drives hate, and 2) A lack of communication between CC's and drivers. Jimmie and Chad overcame a set up tendency that JJ hates. JGR has been unable to do the same. Factor in the Hendrick motor, and this has been an ass kicking.

Sure, they really ought to have it figured out but for some reason they dont, maybe JGR just doesnt have the right people to figure it out.
what if it turns out to be an aero issue thats worse on the Toyota body style ??

Then it's a good thing the new Camry will be here soon. ;)

One thing is certain, I dont know what the hell is really wrong with the Gibbs cars, that really doesnt bother me much cause they must not know either :idunno:

they can't balance horsepower and fuel milage

Nascar has all but put a stop to mileage races, if thats JGRs problem it shouldnt be hard to fix. Constant complaining about poor handling from Gibbs drivers leads me to believe that fuel mileage is the least of their problems

Aero wasn't an issue last year at all, but having said that the squared splitter, bigger radiator pan, and spoiler have changed everything. Throw in the 0 Ride Height, and we have a mess that Hendrick has capitalized on, but JGR has failed to come to grips with. I'm gonna be honest with you man, I just don't see aero as the issue. I think that TRD has that managed. I'll go a step further....I don't think horsepower is the issue. Hendrick is the leader there, but JGR has enough horsepower to win more with a better handling package. My take? I don't think that the drivers have the ability to adjust to the tendencies of the new set ups the way Jimmie has. I think the new feel played into the hands of Junior and Gordon, but Kasey looks worse than the JGR guys because supposedly he has the **** to win, but he doesn't. I believe that the weak link in the JGR team has been exposed--the crew chiefs' inability to communicate with their drivers. Hate to say it for you Kyle18, but Ratcliff and Matt are doing the best job with it, and you can see where they are in points. I don't think Darian and Denny have ever been on the same page, and we both agree on the issues with Dave and Kyle. To make things worse, I believe that there are JGR Engine Shop loyalists (Cronquist Disciples if you will) who will always blame TRD horsepower for everything. They can do that because they aren't blaming their own team--TRD kind of becomes the red headed step child. Hell, Kyle blamed TRD a couple of years ago for fuel mileage at Dover when they were 10 freakin' laps short! A Prius might have helped in that situation, but nothing else would have. Bottom line....JGR guys need to get their heads out of their asses, quit blaming people, and get this **** figured out. Honestly, I wonder if they have the ability to drive these cars the way they are. Not to fear, however, the reduction in horsepower will change everything again, and I believe that they will kick ass again. Let's hope they figure this thing out.

Sometimes I think the JGR crew chiefs think the off season means vacation time :(

Yeah, man, you have talked about that for as long as we have chatted. I was slow to the party, but I completely agree with you on this. There is an issue there, and they need to get it fixed. Adam Stevens and Matt Lucas are in the wings. There are alternatives. I will say once again that unless Kyle wins the Championship next year, he is gone. With the way contracts are negotiated these days, performance next year might be too late. He takes the 10 as Danica leaves. Should be interesting if Tony grabs Samantha's ass.

Hoodlum Harvick and Kyle on the same team wont be happening me thinks, it would be cool to see the 10 doing a burnout though, obviously we havent seen that for a while

I dunno, media talked **** about how they would all hate on each other, and it looks to be a love fest. You know, Danica's the little sister, Tony is the Dad, Harvick is the rebellious middle kid, and Kurt is the step son. The only thing keeping Kyle in a JGR car is Toyota, and it KBM goes to ****, that is out the window.

Had some monster today before an exam. Quickly remembered why I dont drink that stuff :D

You have to be spiritually connected to the grog of a god. You...are not. Karma bit you in the ass. Kyle18 and I drink that stuff like water. :punkrocke

Lol I'm already active enough :p That & I turned the bottle around to see what I was putting in my body & I couldn't pronounce half the chemicals in it. Threw that junk in the garbage :D Ate an apple instead.

I've often wondered if the chemicals are a better option that the **** already in my body. I'll let you know.....or not. LOL :D

A lot of people will disagree with me, but I could see Kyle Busch returning to Hendrick in 2015. Kahne will likely be gone by then and I think next year is Gordon's swan song (unless he wins it this year). Imagine a lineup of Johnson, chase Elliott, rowdy, and jr

you guys are crazy about kyle leaving look at the past, he got in a fight with richard childress, richard even took his watch off first, LOL. no way roush is going to hire kyle, penske had its fill with the other busch. and YES kyle knows he was fired from the 5 car and YES it bothers him. gibbs is the only fit for kyle. gibbs will get it figured out they are one of the best funded teams in the sport.

 There isn't a team in the garage that wouldn't want the most talented driver I'm the sport. Childress would slobber at the mouth if he had the chance to get Kyle busch, but Stewart haas or Hendrick are more likely

Kyle Busch not only burns bridges but he stomps the ashes into dust. "When" kybu has another major meltdown and JGR fires his ass he'll have two options, the 51 or 78 like his brother.

Terrel Owens was also one of the most feared receivers in the league & any team would benefit from having him BUT he was a detriment in the locker room & only caused problems with his actions & mouth off the field. Kyle Busch has that same issue. Sure, any team would benefit on the track if they had him in their car, but he's a negative media attention magnet & teams dont want that.

Childress would probably like to have Kyle on his team so he could have somebody to put in a headlock and beat the hell out of everyday.

Interesting fact about drivers who've finished 2nd in points the last few years: they are a combined 1-for-231 following their runner up season:

Jeff Gordon: 2nd in points in '07, winless in '08.

Carl Edwards: 2nd in points in '08 and '11, winless in '09 and '12.

Mark Martin: 2nd in points in '09, winless in '10.

Denny Hamlin: 2nd in points in '10, one win in '11.

Clint Bowyer: 2nd in points in '12, winless in '13.

Matt Kenseth: 2nd in points in '13, winless so far in '14.

So there definitely seems to be some degree of hangover associated with finishing 2nd in points.

Hey, like the "loser at the Super Bowl" curse.

That's a crazy stat. I think the emotional toll of chasing a championship and falling short has to be torment on teams and drivers.
