Menzer taking a shot at Stewart

That's bad reporting right there, since 28 million Americans are under 5 and haven't started school yet.

Yeah, and the ABC and NBC crowd are neutral and balanced.

OK, that one shouldn't have made it past the editors desk.

1.) 50 million adults can't read, 42 million adults can't write if we're going to get statistical.

2.) Yes, I could call ABC neutral and balanced.

3.) My response to you is the same as it was to Smoke14.

Oh, and the rest of you can also file my response to Smoke14 in your bookmarks menu because that's going to be my default answer to that statement for the rest of my life.

It's not the media's job to "ask original questions". It's their job to ask questions. And they aren't "stupid questions" either. Bottom line is, we're not in the cars, we don't know what's going on in the cars, we don't know what the driver is thinking, and that's why we ask "stupid", "unoriginal" questions.

I don't know man, maybe it's time for you and the media to reevalueate what your doing and how your doing it. I know I for one get tired of hearing the same old same old over and over again. Be original get informened show us something New!

And when drivers get asked different questions, or specific questions about an incident on the track (something that's not the "same old same old"), they accuse the media of trying to stir the pot as some on here have accused Bob Pockrass of doing.

If the fans think they can do this job better, let's see them try. Oh, that's right, the fans are allowed to open a Wordpress account, write a blog and NASCAR gives them their own special "press credential". And then they go to the tracks, with no real training whatsoever thinking they've earned their place, and piss on everybody's boots.

Like I said, I've been doing this for five years and I don't have it all figured out... getting pretty tired of fans who haven't done this a day in their lives telling reporters how to do their job.

Really quite simple if you don't like a question just smile and keep your trap shut. No one makes you say something stupid, that's all on you.
On target. Now, who still remembers Bill''Hurricane Hair'' Webber? After his meltdown in Loudon a few years ago, I hear he's a journalist of some sort in the Baltimore area now.

Wish we had more active members on this site. Nascar.com is just a social site for a bunch of women and idiots. Hardly anyone actually knows anything about racing. You spend all your time wondering if any of them ever even watch a race.

I remember him, but not the incident you mentioned

Those types get RUNNOFT this site pretty quick. We all have out favorites here but we realize this is a racing site, not a fanboy or fangirl site.

It happened in the lobby of the Holiday Inn in Concord,N.H. on Saturday. Very vocal tirade, and he was hardly missed on Sunday's broadcast. Don't bother looking it up I already did, that was his catch phrase. I guess the outburst was due to the fact he was out of hairspray..

Your numbers are BS Andy, and I think you know it. You said "50 million AMERICANS can't read", so why post outrageous numbers that include foreign nationals?

Post a link to prove that 50 million AMERICAN adults can't read what you post, and I'll concede the point.

Maybe trying to be less defensive and listening to what the consumers want would be a good idea?

Butt, I guess it's not worthwhile for me to try and give my input or attempt to be helpful in any way?
Good Luck with your profession.

From your link "According to the CIA's World Factbook section on the United States, 99% of the population of our nation is literate (www.cia.gov). This factsheet defines literacy as the ability of men and women aged 15 and older to both read and write."

I told you that your numbers were BS.

Go sit out in Washington, DC for a half hour and ask people questions and then get back to me about what qualifies as literate.

And before I educated him...

Andy after I educated him.....

We're making progress kid.

I'm talking about what researchers define as literate. You're talking about what the government defines as literate. The government is who runs our sorry ass piss poor education system. The governments (local, state and federal) have their stupid little tests they use to define literacy. Of course, they're going to say most people are literate.

Go on the streets of any major city and ask the following questions:

Who is the Speaker of the House?

What continent is Iraq in?

What year(s) did the War of 1812 take place in?

When was D-Day?

No, I'm talking about the indefensable statement you first made. Can't you read? :p

I jumped on numbers from research agencies that, quite honestly, I have a hard time doubting based on my daily interactions with the public.

Come spend a day in DC and I'll show you what I mean!

According to the National Adult Literacy Survey, 42 million adult Americans can't read; 50 million can recognize so few printed words they are limited to a 4th or 5th grade reading level; one out of every four teenagers drops out of high school, and of those who graduate, one out of every four has the equivalent or less of an eighth grade education.

Can you read?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get ready to go cover an event since I suck at my job that any idiot off the street can do.

So now it's 42 million can't read, and another 50 million can't read above 5th grade level? That 92 million adults!

Yes, I can read. That's how I know you're getting worse.

Just give me some hot female reporters. They don't have to be worth a crap as journalist, because I can still look at them.

Arguing about Menzer and Stewart settling an off track issue is shallow. While good racing and hot women is something to cherish for an entire life.

Truth is truth.
