Harry Gant started 24th and took the 1992 race, the worst starting position for any winner at Michigan.

What how about ol Wild Bill:Leads active drivers with six poles and seven wins at Michigan Speedway; owns 17 top five finishes and 29 top-10s in 49 Winston Cup starts at the track; swept both events at Michigan in 1985 and 1986 and won six of eight between 1984-1987; won at Michigan from the pole position three times in his career, most recently in the second race of 1988. And he it's having a flash back of a year, as of late.

Handsome Harry was always one of my favored drivers!! Holds the record for most wins for a driver over 50 years old too!!

His record here though was eclipsed in 2000 when Tony Stewart won from the 27th starting position.

Bill even when running poorly is a threat to take a race here!! Hope he does well.

Another to watch here may be DJ. Got his first WC win in 1991 driving for the Woods Bros beating Davey by a mere 8 inches!! Had the pole and finished second here in the June race this year.
