I'll also take the "under."

Since the 2012 repave, the allure of MIS has been the raw, breath-taking speed at corner entry. Unless you are going damn fast, the broad, 18-degree banked turns are less challenging than most other racetracks.

This year, with the very high amounts of aero drag inherent in the Next Gen car coupled with modest 670 horsepower, I expect the cars to be sluggish on the straights, as if they're pulling an anchor. I hope I'm wrong, but that's my expectation. Not a good race for someone like Eleanor Roosevelt...

It's safe to say they won't reach 220 mph on the frontstretch like they once used to but unlike 2019-21 there should be some off-throttle time.
Momentum will still be huge but I think we're going to see lots of passing and close battles tomorrow. If Fontana is any indication there will also be plenty of cautions.

I'm looking forward to the race but I'm not sure how much of it I'll get to see since NASCAR and IndyCar are once again going head to head for no good reason at all.

Bubba has been on a roll here. I think we've all been waiting for this.

I don't think it's a championship caliber talent, but he certainly a hell of a lot better than his results the last year or so. Glad to see him stringing together some momentum

That was an insane lap from Bubba, over a full tenth and a half better than anyone else. 195 into turn 1, 198 into turn 3, never dropped below 185 the whole lap. Wow. Didn’t expect the cars to be so fast here.

A lot of blunders really hid just how fast he's been this season.

The consistency is all I need to see from him and the team. I hope he and the team execute tomorrow. 200 laps around Michigan is no joke. He said it best, go re-focus and get it right for tomorrow.

It most certainly does. From track position to picking pits stalls. Its critical
I'm not saying it's completely irrelevant but compared to F1, MotoGP or IndyCar it plays much less of a role. I've often seen fast cars that started in the back running in the Top 10 by the end of stage one.

There were only a handful of qualifying sessions in the last two seasons and I remember several folks on here saying they didn't miss it.

Significant rain in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois right now.

Hard to imagine that southern Michigan won't get slammed.

Do they have lights at Michigan or are we looking at the race being postponed to Monday.

asking for a friend . . . .
