Mark Martin lost a transmission at the start and Robby spun out on the 1st lap......there goes my Cingular Wireless bill straight up. :(

What the hell was Brendan Gaughan doing getting into the wall on the first lap?

Damn Robby has some terrible luck.

Lets give credit where credit is due. The caution comes out on lap 2 and goes green on lap 4. That's the way it should be. ;)

Hmmmm Kat, maybe some of these cars should run in reverse around the track, they're passing more cars going backwards.

From Jayski:

Stewart walks out of drivers meeting, goes to the back: Nextel Cup driver #20-Tony Stewart walked out of Sunday's pre-race drivers meeting at Michigan International Speedway before its conclusion and was sent to the rear of the field to start Sunday's DHL 400. Several drivers were asking questions of NASCAR President Mike Helton and events director David Hoots regarding restarts, when Stewart appeared to get frustrated. He said in part, "Can't we just go race?" and walked out of the meeting. The meeting continued. Stewart had qualified 27th.(MRN Radio race coverage/ThatsRacin.com)(6-20-2004)

I'll say it again... Nascar has lost respect and control.

Nascar makes themselves look like idiots again and call the yellow on the last lap coming into turn 3.

Nascar may have just lost me....

Going with DW let em race back on the last lap....that would have beena cool finish with the 9 and 12.....

you have to take into account that there was the 50 car sitting crumpled up on the track.

Yes, but it had NO effect on the leaders in the race, and it was on the last lap. They would have already been slowed down by the time that they got back to the 50 car.

True.

Fact of the matter is, since the end of last year, Nascar has been making some very questionable calls and decisions. Their credibility as a sanctioned league is being questioned, and fans have started to turn away. Its noticed in the TV ratings, in the lack of activity on message boards, and the fact that most tracks cant sell out their races.

Speaking for myself I dont have as much interest as I used to.

Yes and No. It depends on where the 50 car was setting. If he was sitting before the leaders got to the finish line on the last lap they would have still been running wide open. If there was no caution that is. If he was sitting past the finish line yes Newman would start slowing down.

True enough but consideration must be given to the fact, once the rule is changed, it is final.

Suppose the wreck were between the lead cars or those in the lead group. Giving the remaining field behind the wreck the opportunity to race back to the checkers would be very dangerous.

That was one of the reasons freezing the field was rule was created, to avoid a situation of placing wrecked cars in danger.

The rule of freezing the field is a good rule. Leave it alone.

This is one rule that cannot or should not be arbitrary and would cause confusion.

I feel it is too many changes too quick. Changing the points thing freezing the field Etc. The safer barriers are great but some other changes really haven't done much but confuse things.
