Michigan RACE thread

Bs by Alan going with 4 when everyone else went with 2. Just playin catch up for the rest of the day.

Congrats to JJ and his fans

It was OK. I'll be happy when the pavement wears out. Passing impossible if the car in front was running the same line.

I know. What will the forum argue about all week? Somebody provoke the Austin Dillon or Jeff Gordon fans so we have a topic to argue about. Get posts deleted and threads closed all week. You know, fun stuff.
There was a "does even care anymore?" Thread posted. Watch as the politeness of this thread folds in on itself :lurk:

Why did all the JGR drivers finish so poorly ??? Just an off day

Doesn't Gordon himself have ANY say in what goes on in the pits? Tires? Adjustments?

Normally no. He's always been the guy who just drives the car. If you ask him anything about the setup he will say "you're askin the wrong guy. I just drive the car". Some of these newer guys have some engineering back grounds and they can give some setup info over the radio. Gordon is a bit too old skool for that ;) He's always trusted in either Ray, Robbie, Steve or Alan to make the right calls. I was not a huge fan of Letarte but damn, he looks like Knaus compared to Alan most of the time. I know we Gordon fans catch hell for blaming him but he cost him several good cars last year & chances of winning at Michigan, Pocono & some others this year (barring restarts) on stupid pit strategy.

Anyone see the name for the Brickyard 400 yet?

Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com

Wow. Just like single sponsor cars, single sponsor races are becoming a thing of the past. It won't be long before they are racing at FedEx, the Official package delivery service for Homestead Miami Dodge powered by 5 hour energy international raceway.

Yup. Can we blame Alan? Everyone else on the planet took 2 tires. Dont know what he was thinking or who he was communicating with.
You can blame Alan if you want...but you do realize that Alan is a key part of why Jeff has been and still is leading the points this year. Sometimes a decision works to your advantage and some times it doesn't...but you don't know until you try it. Sometimes your the hero and some times your the zero...that's just the way it is in the big boy world. The one thing for sure...Jeff Gordon is in a much better position this year then he has been for a long time. This could be your guys year...enjoy it while it lasts. You could be in my shoes and have Harvicks crew.:)

Lord help this forum if Alan takes 4 instead of 2 if he makes it to Homestead

Huh? Drivers knowing how to setup the car is new school? Rusty Wallace and Alan Kulwicki made all the calls about what to change on the car, even during the race. I think their crew chiefs just sat and picked their noses.

You are spot on.
