Two days ago, Mikaela Shiffrin won the World Cup giant slalom at Kranjska Gora, tying Lindsey Vonn's (women's) world record 82 race wins.
The overall world record is currently at 86 wins and Mikaela is looking to beat this record as soon as this season.
Her first chance to come closer to 86 will be at tonight's slalom in Flachau where she is sitting in 2nd after the first run. The second run will start at 2:45 pm ET on Peacock.

Gonna have to wait until after the world championship for #86.
I'm extremely happy for Lena Dürr though. First win ever in the Slalom for her, exactly 10 years after winning the city event in Moscow.

Do you think the women could have times on par with the men? Skiers generally arent super bulked up so weight is not that diff

The FIS is pretty keen to avoid that question. Women never run the same course as men and Lindsey Vonn's wish to participate in a men's world cup race was never granted because she is not a man.

The speed discipline specialists are super bulked up so that's a no.
We do have one comparison which is the occasional mixed team event.
It's a short parallel Slalom without a huge level of difficulty and the average time difference was roundabout a second.
