We've got a new name and we've got a new logo, how bout' showing us that new trophy!
They've been taking about this on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio this morning and one of the ideas I'm hearing them talk about is a single trophy that gets passed on..... Similar to the idea used in the NHL. A single trophy possibly named after NASCAR's founder Bill France. It could possibly have each of the Cup Champions in the history of the sport engraved into its base.
I really like this idea. Anyone that is familiar with the NHL know that the Stanley Cup is a revered trophy in the sport. There is a lot of respect surrounding it. A trophy with all of the past history of NASCAR could possibly hold the same type of value. Probably only those fellow few of you that are NHL fans can understand that trophies significance.
Don't misunderstand, the team/driver would still receive a trophy that is theirs for as long as they desire but there would only be a single trophy that represents the longstanding history of the sport. Having it dedicated to it's founding father would only seem proper IMO.
Flame away!
