Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

The Atlanta Motor Speedway girls came into the suites for photo opportunities. This was in '09. I don't think the guys who took pictures with them were in the target demographic. J/S

I smeared the faces because I don't know these fans and have no permission to post.

That I get, but I'm already there for the race itself. I wouldn't say I would 'probably go to see what changes they've made to the weekend festivities.' I say I was going to the race, and I may get around to checking out whatever else may be going on. Or not; I usually provide enough of my own entertainment - books, cards, binos for birdwatching, etc. Mundane to some, but stuff I know I'm going to enjoy.

Your generation camps? The same one that doesn't get drivers licenses and considers cold cereal too much work? :D

The race is a given though I know it's going to be good. I don't know what changes are being made to the other parts of a NASCAR weekend so that is a draw for me this year. Well I camp. Have always camped with my grandparents growing up and for hunting trips and races. Have a drivers license as well and Cheerios are the bomb.

Nice, professional looking Atlanta representatives. Wonder where one may encounter one of the young ladies in the central Georgia area when the travelin’ show ain’t in town.

The Winston chicks handing out fresh packs of cigarettes for empties in Richmond were local girls who hooked up with Winston on a by-the-event basis thru a local modeling agency.

Wondering if the folks hawking the soft drinks work things the same way or if they’ve re-invented the party girls.

Good it's what the sport lacks and what all the old timers don't get. It's why we need caution clocks, there needs to be more breaks in the action so they can do crowd immersive things that happen at all sporting events during halftime and tv timeouts.

All other sports have changed so much in how you attend them in the last 20 years, NASCAR really hasn't

Get people back in the seats, especially families, and you'll get eyes back on tv

Cheerios. Good idea. Think I'll go pour a bowl.

Hmm? T-shirt cannons? Dance teams? Mascot races? Juggling acts? I don't know if I'm in the minority on this one, but when I go to a sporting event that kind of stuff is usually towards the bottom of the list of my interests.

How many women boycott the NFL over the cheerleaders? The NBA?

I like the hawt wimmins it will be great seeing the Monster girls. But it will not make or break the series. Promotion is obviously a great thing when done right.

But the racing, and the racing done right is paramount.

I love long green flag runs in Cup and I love NHL play that goes on and on without a whistle but I might be in the minority on those things. I am not saying my way is the best way but the last thing I want when I am watching an event from home or live is interruptions. I don't care about immersive things unless it involves a dunk tank and I don't want people trying to engage me as I just want to be left the hell alone so I can enjoy what I came to see.

The halftime break will give me an opportunity to beat the crowd and get to my car to head home. Seriously if they start this silly crap this will be the last year I go to a race. I've already cut way back on the number of races I watch on tv. For me, NASCAR is going in the wrong direction.

does not think hot Monster girls will bring NFL fans because the NFL already has cheerleaders.

I'm with you there but we're both in the minority

I don't think you will have to worry about any of the Monster girls coming to your seat and trying to sit in your lap and engaging you...now I'm not so sure about the popcorn and peanut girls.:D

Kiss Cams are the main reason people go to Clipper games, no?

This is from Germain Racing's tire specialist. Comparing the new format changes to a circus. Not a good sign.
