Most Exciting Race Finish Seen Live?

Yep........ I was there also......... sitting high up in the first turn.......
Our seats were high in the Weatherly Tower if I recall. We just moved down after the race to let the crowd filter out.

We went for all of Speedweeks for nearly every year from '87 to '01. Ours seats were moving and improvin' every year. The only one I missed was when Bobby beat Davey...or that one might be at the top of my list for exciting finishes seen live.

Don't let anyone ever tell you different, but the most exciting races ever to see live from start to finish were/are the Twin Qualifiers. The adrenaline is through the roof.

The '06 Fall Dover was great! I was there for that one. That race crossed my mind in terms of great endings. Burton and Kenseth had an epic duel for the last 10 laps or so!
As an 11 year old Jeff Burton fan who wasn't old enough to remember his past wins at that time, I really enjoyed that race. Then they had the sequel the next spring at Texas

Another exciting finish I saw live was Bobby Hamilton's victory in the #55 Square D Chevy at Talladega.

Yup! Edwards ultimately finished second! I forgot Kenseth ran out of gas! I thought it was Kenseth but when I looked at the box score and saw Edwards was 2nd I was thrown a curveball.

Great race though!

Yes it was. That's when the place was packed to the gills and they still put the condiments on your hotdog for you. We were about mid-way up near the start/finish line.
I was in turn two. Probably the most popular and most unexpected win I've seen live

I feel like there's about 10-12 iconic finishes that are entrenched in the sports history. The ones that come to mind
1959 Daytona 500g
The Petty-Pearson crash and finish
The Rudd-Wallace battle at Watkins Glen '88??
'90 Daytona 500

Mayfield-Earnhardt at Pocono - rattle his cage part 2

Busch and Craven at Darlington '03
.
Yes!!

I can't remember the year right now, but I saw what was(maybe still is?) the closet finish in ARCA Series History. Wasn't the planned finish but a yellow came out for rain so they raced back to the line and was side by side. Went down as the finish. Give me a bit and I'll find it.

Edit: 2002.

Here is the full race.
