Most underrated

This thread got phuckin phunny.

Seriously though, @Greg is on the money with Reutimann. He killed it for MWR and it will always stick with me how he broke down after the last race driving the 00. He knows he doesn't fit the 'image' and knew that would probably be his last shot it decent equipment.

He got started pretty late too.

He was well into his thirties when he came to the scene. Not good.

Get Paul out of RCR (not top tier imo. Just gave everything to Kevin) and put him at HMS or JGR and he'll fly. Hell, I think he'd get the #78 in victory lane. Paul has been strong this year and Aric has run up front as of late. I think if Roush would let go of wheelholder Biffle and put Aric in there, he'd make some noise.

Jamie Mac is like taking a giant breath of air and not exhaling.
Harvick drove RCR junk for years and pulled out wins due to talent. Plenty of organizations have surpassed them since Earnhardt's death although they still have a pretty good restrictor plate program.

Harvick rarely dominated races until he joined SHR. He's actually led more laps in eight races this year than he did in all but two full years of his career (2003, 2006). It pains me to think about what he could have done if he didn't drive for a second-rate team for so long.

I think he has at least one championship in him, but thirteen years with RCR is still an awfully long time.

Oh, on that I agree whole heartedly. Stay there too long.

I think that's why we're seeing him more relax now and that translate on the track with huge perfomances like he's putting on.

He should have at least 4 wins by right at this point.

JOEY!! Lol no not really though I think everyone is aware of his talent now... I'd have to say Biffle or maybe Almirola. Hard to say really... Vickers is pretty high up there on my list too.

I think Biffle is on his way out soon anyway. He's the oldest active full time driver in the series right now and his contract is up this year. Im looking forward to seeing who replaces him. Not sure if he's done after this year but I don't think he'll be going to another team. He might have 2 more years in him but I think he will be the next to retire.

J-Mac definitely isn't overrated... but I don't know if I think he is necessarily under rated or just under the radar 99% of the time.
I'm going to go with Allmendinger as most underrated tho.

Everyone knows he's a threat at every road course so he's not under rated there. He needs to improve on the ovals though. He's had some good showings this year

Maybe he just doesn't have a good enough race team? And his talent on the road courses just takes over? Idk but I wonder if this guy would be racing for top 10s and wins if he was racing at JGR, Penske or Henderick? I just can't figure out how a guy so talented and dominate on road courses is never a factor on an oval? One would think it takes much more skill to drive Sonoma and Watkins Glen then do drive 200 laps in Fontana? I've never seen JJ close to a road course win but he's 6-time! Would Marcos be winning more races in the 48?

Some of his best ovals are Bristol, Martinsville, and Dover. Those are drivers' tracks in my opinion. RPM has improved on other ovals but is still second- or third-tier.

NASCAR's Ninja, Matt Kenseth. Doesn't matter where that guy is in the points. Nobody ever talks about him. One point out of the lead and not a mention. Watch out people. This guy may just sneak up on us this year. I'm just sayin'

He's had a good career considering the caliber of teams he's driven for. I agree if he was with a better team he could win on an oval and make a chase or two.

Forgot about Reuti. Talk about a guy who got crapped on

How is Kenseth under rated... JJ and Kenseth were the only drivers being talked about the last half of the season last year. He's got a championship. Plenty of wins. Has a beef with Gordon. The only reason nobody has mentioned him in the points this year is because the only spots that matter until Richmond are the winner's spots & the points leader. Having no TV time doesn't translate into being under rated. If anything - it means you're over rated. Just ask Dale Jr & Danica Patrick.

Looking at the field. I thought about Jamie Mac.

I liked Landon Cassill and I think BK racing did not do him any justice. Then he had a major falling out with them with his contract.

Those boys at FRR with Ragan and Gilliland are a very talented bunch.

Michael McDowell deserves another shot as well. Very, very likeable guy. Silly how his career has been wasted with a bunch of start and parks.

Ragan and Gilliland are solid drivers that are pretty competitive given the team they race for. Cassill and McDowell are really underrated, I remember Landon having some solid runs in the Finch car and McDowell always does a good job in the Gibbs nationwide cars
