A few buds and I had a discussion last evening regarding the future of the sport and other nascar related topics. One item that kept popping up was the multicar teams. The comment was made that if nascar really wants to try to cut some costs they should limit the number of "drivers" per team. That got me to thinkin, if you limited the number to say 2 per car owner, think of the possible benefits;
Every team would have the same number of test dates alotted to them. Compare how many test dates the Rousch stable has to draw on verses say a single or 2 car team. It may not cut costs but it will certianly level the playing field a bit.
Sponsors would be freed up for other teams as well as talent. (See the Junie thread) I mean lets face it. If roush didn't use all of Sponsors he had they would more than likely sponsor another team allowing some of the teams that have been in Nascar for years an opportunity to continue.
I have more but I will let this settle for a bit. Just some ideas, any feedback is welcome.
Thanks!
