Little late... busy week.

Time to visit "The Ol' Pepper Clam"
(Did Bowyer take off auto correct yet?)

So...

Who wins?
Who wrecks?
Who's upset?
Another wreck fest followed by whoever's on the inside gets a good finish?
6th different winner?

I think were gona see a Hendrick car win it. JJ or Gordon.
Anyone can wreck.. who knows...
Tony... naturally.. he's always bitchin about something.
Yes.. 6th winner.

What do you think?

One of our local tracks will probably again make the Saturday night before Martinsville their "opening night". And again promise that several NASCAR stars will show up to race against the locals. And there will be no NASCAR stars there. And very few locals.

Back to your questions...
Hard to bet against the Hendrick cars, but I think this is Hamlin's time to prove he's back. Or not.

The usual Martinsville suspects will be strong. Hopefully not a wreckfest but a good beat banging tempers flaring short track event. Short track cars are expendable :p AND NO RAIN. Cold air, cold track - should make for some fast cars. Lehhgoo

Denny Hamlin came back from a knee operation to win at M'ville in 2010, he comes back from the sinus infection/eye metal to win there in 2014.

So.. post qualifying predictions? Looks like the usual suspects as most thought.

Also what about the truck race? I for one am excited to see the trucks back on track and am looking forward to that race very much. Im conflicted in that series because I like Darrell Wallace Jr but I really don't like Kyle Busch all that much. Nonetheless I hope Bubba can make it two in a row at the ol' pepper clam :)

All the JGR cars are stong but it's just not wise to bet against Gordon or Johnson at Martinsville.

Other than a win by #20, I'm hoping that we see considerably less caution laps than last fall.

Had you not said "SHR sweep" and clarified that you were talking about Cup, I would have severely questioned your sanity, seeing as otherwise you would have predicted Jennifer Jo Cobb to win the race.

Its equally as insane as saying Danica has any type of shot at winning at Martinsville over guys like Johnson, Hamlin, Stewart, Gordon and so on. :p

True, but in fairness, Danica showed more talent in this race last year than Cobb has in her entire racing career.

Truck series------- Eric Jones
cup series--------- Kyle Busch

You sure have it bad.

Both are well educated predictions
Eric Jones is quite capable in the trucks, seen him win at Phoenix
Kyle Busch is quite capable in anything

Oh ............................. and BITE ME

I'll bite the hook. What's the pepper clam thing about? ;)
It's from the texts from the race at Martinsville last year.. Clint Bowyer's auto correct. Pepper clam instead of paper clip... I found that hilarious and have called it that since. I was just surprised no one even asked lol.. maybe some remember but there's a lot of new people around..

lol That's funny.

I've found myself rooting for Jeff Gordon lately a little bit... not sure why. If it's not someone in a Ford that wins tomorrow I hope it's Jeff.

I'm not sure I care who wins. I just want to see another good race. This year is off to a great start.
I usually dread when they come here... I refer to it as the semi-annual Martinsville lull... I figured Joey would do great in the last two races and had winning cars but mechanical issues took care of that... I didn't expect much coming to M'Ville from him but Im a bit more confident after practice and qualifying... especially when Larry Mac said he was pretty sure the 22 was in qualifying trim because of how fast his lap was and then half an hour later Joey said they're going to try a few more things and then will be switching over to qualifying trim.

For the most part at Martinsville I keep my eye on Joey around 15th-20th and just enjoy the racing up front... hopefully Im in for a change of pace in that regard this weekend.

This year has been pretty awesome so far.. every single race has exceeded my expectations so much that when there finally is a boring race I probably won't even mind. Im really looking forward to next week.. actually... Im really looking forward to the next bunch of races.. I have to look forward all the way to June at Sonoma to find the first race Im not really excited about lol and I could go even further and say July at New Hampshire bc Sonoma's not really that bad. God I love NASCAR :)

Looks like Denny has his own prediction for this weekend...

"I'm going to win it this weekend," Hamlin said, "I promise."

If I hadn't seen him call a win like that before and deliver I would just laugh but still... arrogant... douchey. I hope he fights hard for that second spot and makes some stupid move at the start when Joey gets under him. He's probably the only driver I am happy to see fail... not even only on track lol I wouldn't mind seeing him fail completely and just be gone from NASCAR for good. Too much? Too bad.. I just really don't like him.. he's probably the only driver I just really don't like because of the way he acts and the things he says. Most others are because of on track things... Denny is just a douche.... end of rant. :D
