My mother-in-law is in ICU

Well, you never can really comprehend everything, 4x. I hate to hear about the "timeline", but the power of prayer is immense! Just take things one day at a time, and just be there for your wife! She, most of all, just needs to know that you are by her side! :lilangel:
 
Sounds like things are going pertty good. :cheers: BTW. Tell your wife to knock a knot on her sister's head. And help out some. :lol:
 
4X, my thoughts and prayers are still with you and your family.
 
Her one sister is helping out a lot more than expected. She came home from the University of Oklahoma, where she teaches, for spring break and says she isn't going anywhere for a while. She has been sleeping at the hospital most nights and helping her mom quite a bit. I just wish she was more responsible in financial areas and long term. She is being great right now, but has a history of bailing when she decides she can't handle things. She went to Alaska several times, Oklahoma several times, you get the idea.
 
Sounds like things are improving over there. My prayers and thoughts are still with you guys.
 
Great News! She has been doing so much better that they moved her out of ICU today and into a regular room. :)

They also determined that she indeed has colon cancer and not ovarian. Now that they have identified it, they can remove it and get on with treating it.

What a releif for you and your wife (in a way). I understand that it is not an easy thing to deal with so will continue positive thoughts and prayers.

Just read all you and your family have been going through but it sounds like now they can start the correct treatment...prayers for all.

She will have a colostomy tomorrow(monday) and they are going to try a round or two of chemo to try to shrink the tumor before they take it out.

My late FIL had a colostomy many years ago and improved greatly. This was well before Chemo and he had even made a trip to Mexico for some "alternative" treatments.

After all she has been thru, she will feel sooo much relief.
 
The colostomy went very smoothly. They said she will actually get to try drinking some fluids tonight if she isn't too nauseous. I really do appreciate all of your prayers. They are working great. :salute:
 
My wife just called and said Janet took a turn for the worst and had to be put on a respirator for 2 hours or so. She will have to go back to ICU for the night or even for a couple of days. :(
