My wishes for Sunday

I hope Jimmie Johnson wins the championship and Danica Patrick wins the race. Twitter will have a hysterical freakout if that were to happen. :XXROFL:

People who wish harm on Jimmie Johnson aren't race fans. :(

I hope your bowels lock up and the guberment outlaws laxitives.

J/K

JJ is the class of the field. I do not wish harm on him and I truly realize what he has accomplished.

How many drivers have been killed this year in crashes? Not to mention drivers injured. I don't know how anyone can wish harm on any driver. I want Harvick to win the championship, severance pay for 2010, but I sure as hell wouldn't want Jimmie to get hurt to make it happen.

I agree. I have always been a supporter of the underdog and JJ is definitely not an underdog.

Maybe JJ will go to the wrong track Sunday morning. :idunno:

So rant time.

As someone who grew up around the sport, who had a brother race go-kart and then Mini-stock before he had to quit to go to college. I am disgusted when people wish that a driver's car would crash or that they'd hit the wall or wish any sort of harm against drivers and/or car. Yes, thanks to safety measure like SAFER barriers, the Gen6 car and HANS, racing is safer than ever. However, a hit in the wrong place or a really bad accident, or a defected part can still send a driver to the hospital or worse.

While I understand that Johnson may not be your favorite driver, it still doesn't excuse wishing harm on him or his car.

rant off.

As much as I dislike Harvick, I'd be happy if he won it. RCR hasn't won a championship in forever.

I would like to see a good race once again. Who ever wins and the championship has done it in more than one race. And JUN_YER wins the race.:partytime

All I wish for on Sunday is to watch an exciting race, maybe have a few cold beers and whatever happens I'll be happy with. I think JJ gets it done and he's certainly deserving IMO.

Hmmm... I'd like to see the Patriots win and the Broncos lose....oh wrong sport, ummm JJ finish 35th with engine problems, Mat blow his tranny and Harvick take the Championship and stuff the trophy up RCRs ....tailpipe!

My wishes for Sunday's race….. I would like to see Jimmie Johnson's crew be the quickest in unloading their car from the hauler on Friday morning. Then I'd like to see the #48 be the fastest car in the first practice session followed by being the fastest car in qualifying, setting a new track record and then getting to pick pit stall #1. On Saturday I'd like to see him be the fastest car on the track in both practice sessions. Finally on Sunday, starting from the inside pole position I’d like to see him come around turn #4 on the last warm up lap getting ready to take the green only to have to pit immediately because of a sputtering engine. I want to see him have to take the car to the garage to diagnosis the problem while the rest of the field takes the green. This I'd like to see followed by a ticker across the top of the screen that reads 43rd - #48 Johnson - DNF.

What I expect to see. Jimmie Johnson, fastest in all practice sessions, on the pole with a new track record, starting on the inside front row, taking the green flag and immediately pulling out to a seven second lead, followed by lap after lap of mind numbing banter about 6-time and the expectations for his 7th in 2014.

There's a reason why Patrick and a few other back markers do well at Martinsville ;)

Wishing the #48 to crash is a sad way to go about things, IMO, and right up there with people screaming for Biffle and kenseth to be intentionally crashed when tandem racing at Daytona a couple year ago. That was the most disgusting race thread I have ever witnessed on this entire forum.

As a Gordon fan I respect the hell out of Johnson. The apprentice is now the master. BUT until JJ gets 13 wins in a single season & breaks Gordon's win record I won't say he is better than Gordon. There is a tinge of jealousy as well as a sense of congratulations on Gordon's mentoring and Johnson exceeding expectations. I want a HMS Chevy to hold the trophy so that is why I'll pull for Johnson. Here's to 2014

I don't want Johnson to get hurt, but if he was to mess up the car just enough so he doesn't finish the race that's fine by me.

Well, I do know that Kenseth and Biffle are still friends...just how good of friends, I don't know ;) J/K

irritated as hell that jimmie made two great saves at phoenix. madder than that at kenseth's pit crew performance last week.

fully expect the 48 to cruise to another championship. my only solace is that they will be racing timid as hell and sweating bullets and triple checking bolts this entire week. hope something gets torqued too much!

unless harvick (can't expect it out of matt) pulls some crazy, innocent looking move early in the race....:D

any stats on hendrick engines expiring throughout the season? any enemies of jimmie looking for a payback? did mikey ruin potential team plans? can nascar at least create fake drama with caution flags?

i want conspiracy theories!!!

Maybe Kurt can help his future teammate out and we get Harvick that championship :)

That's not exactly what I'm hoping for :)

I think I'd rather see Johnson win another one before Harvick.

I don't care who wins the title, I just want to see an upset in victory lane. GO J.J. YELEY!!!

I want to see the same, except I want to see JJ dominate 3/4ths of the race, then do something stupid like go three wide into a turn and wreck the car resulting in a DNF with no injuries to the driver. That way he'll have no one to blame but himself for losing the championship.

Oh how fun that would be! :partytime

Yeah, right...the other two cars involved would get the blame.

My wish is for Jimmie to decide to go fishing and not start the race, to have Matt spin on a straightway and back it into a wall losing the championship in a stupid as hell move (with no injuries of course), Harvick to get 29th, and to have Kyle be the champ ;)

A guy and I at work bet every week on the race and have been since early in the season. I got the 48 and he's got the 18. I was up four races on him at one time then JJ had that terrible stretch in the summer and he got five up on me. It's now even with one to go. The amount of junk talking overrides any monetary prize. I just need the 48 > 18.....

I feel something good for Jeff. After two dismal races (Still no idea what happened at the end of Phoenix) he will come strong, lead the most laps and win the damn thing.
