NASCAR '14 vote for the cover

I had every NASCAR offering on my PC from Papyrus/Sierra. The original one that came out in '94 (those were the good old days!) up until their last version, 2003 Season. By the time the last version rolled out I was finally considering updating my graphics card and upgrading from my old joystick to a force feedback wheel/pedal setup, and then they stopped making NASCAR games. Bummer. I know there are a ton of mods and stuff still out there for it, but I can't convince myself to invest in a gaming desktop just for one game, especially when I know I'll rarely have time to play it.

The last console game I've owned was Thunder 2004. I've played some of the later EA versions, and the Eutechnyx games, and wasn't impressed at all.
 
Smoke won the contest, or so it's being reported on NASCAR Radio. Not only is he on the cover he also gets to play the game 24/7 during his road to recovery.

I knew he would win it from day one.. He's a fan favorite right now because he got hurt.. its a pity vote.. and I know that sounds bad but I mean no disrespect. If he didn't get hurt it most likely would have been Danica.

With some better car physics. A NASCAR game with Gran Turismo or Forza car physics would make for a much better game. I love racing and can't stand to play NASCAR titles because they feel like an arcade.

I believe he made it to the final 4 or something in last years vote. Not sure though....
 
Does anyone know what season this game is going to cover? Generally when these games are released, the cars and driver line-ups are from the previous season... With this game coming out in early 2014 as opposed to.. Like right now, are they going to actually be racing 2014 cars in this game? Or this past seasons?

If not, Stewart being on the cover is bull****. All he did this year was get hurt. No disrespect, just saying.

How's that 'lipstick on a pig' saying go again? Err, nevermind.

Like previous versions it'll probably come out with what is known at the time of production. There will probably be a major update at the time the game is first loaded into your system followed by subsequent updates from time to time. That's the usual scenario. I'm not so sure that NASCAR even knows what the new package is for 2014 at this point.
 
Yeah now that they have downloadable packages and all that, even if it is from last year it wont be long before people can update it to 2014.
 
If they were smart, they'd have an option for the consumer to personalize their own copy by being able to order it with their driver on the cover.

For a price.. I never did update to the gen6 in NTG/inside line.

ah hell, who cares.
 
I play games but the only nascar game I can remember playing is Bill Elliots nascar challenge on my nes. I still have it somewhere around here....
 
I had a Nascar Game years ago , the fastest way around the track was to go down pit road at full speed. There was no pit road speeding penalty so it was pretty hard to resist doing it . I should did that out and challange my nurse to a game.
 
If I can pass half the field coming out of turn 4 at Atlanta with the difficulty on max and every "driver help" option off, then I'm burning this game and hanging every Eutechnyx member by their entrails.

It was the same way with EA Sports.
