NASCAR on TNT

Best part of Tnt's coverage this year will be that troll Bill Weber is gone from the booth.

Second best.

Lindsay Czarniak hosting Countdown is the best part!!! :beerbang:

TNT's coverage last year (without Billy) kicked ass. The Daytona broadcast last summer was the best NASCAR broadcast in a long time. Not to mention ESPN's made huge gains in their coverage. I think the best is ahead for us now.

And the worst part is us people out in the country with antennas get to catch up on watching our DVD movie collection on race days.

forget what it was called (speed buddy?) but tnt streamed their races over the net also. wasn't bad if you have a decent net speed connection and good size monitor. also gave you 4 different view choices you could switch between to see what was going on from different views. don't see why they wouldn't do the same again.

Race Buddy

And they will use it for all 6 NASCAR on TNT telecasts. I think last year they even piped in TNT commentary.

i guess the commercials for the closer and saving grace other tnt shows will be on every 5 seconds again..TNT rocks other than constsntly showing those commercials

That, and I wonder how big their pop-up adds for those shows will be during the race.

Hopefully Race Buddy will go the way of Digger and '' Is my hair ok'' Webber.
I still think the graphics are childish at best, and the race stage that rotates, what is that all about?

Did you ever wonder why they only get a handful of races doled out each year by NASCAR to broadcast? More bogus commercials for their own network, lame commentary, and pitiful analysis of why Kyle Busch's fiancee prefers cooking with a microwave,or why the average number of fans over age twenty, who camp trackside, prefer 5# bags of crushed ice vs. 5# blocks of ice.
Ridiculous. At least I won't have to watch the painful coverage of the Lennox 301 on tv.I'll be there, spared from the agonizing diatribe broadcast through this fine land of ours.No wonder the terrorists hate us so.

why would the terrorists hate us cause of TNT its named after a weapon;)

I'm just happy that Boogity Boogity Boogity is gone till next year!!!

Not so fast! By the way, I agree totally but it seems ol' DW isn't going anywhere. In fact, there may be more DW then some of us will be able to handle. Not only is he jumping into the booth for the Truck Series, he also is going to appear weekly on NASCAR RaceDay, Trackside Live and various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice and qualifying sessions on SPEED throughout the summer months. Info from Jayski.....

Waltrip will replace Kyle Petty on NASCAR RaceDay for the Michigan (June 13), Infineon Raceway (June 20), Daytona (July 3) and Chicagoland (July 10) events. He also will fill in for Elliott Sadler on Trackside Live and serve as an analyst for SPEED's broadcast of the Cup Series practice and qualifying broadcasts during these weekends, while Jeff Hammond simultaneously steps in to handle Petty's NASCAR Victory Lane duties.

Not only that..... Hereeeee's Jimmy!

Jimmy Spencer will return to NASCAR RaceDay and NASCAR Victory Lane for the Pocono (June 6) and New Hampshire (June 27) events, replacing Petty as an analyst.

Ol' Weber is good at being an illusionist. He made himself disappear from TV. :D

They get bigger every year too. This year I'm guessing they will take up half the screen this time around.

Jeez, some of y'all will bytch no matter who's carrying the races.

Even with Weber in the booth last year, I thought TNT's coverage ran circles around FOX and ESPN. It was a hell of a lot better without Weber, but the entire TNT package is great.

I'm just glad I can watch one or two races and not have to listen to DW's asinine comments anymore.

Now that funny right there

I did ~giggle~.

Laugh all you want, I'm serious. TNT's coverage hasn't even started and everyone's already complaining about the graphics and commercials.

It CAN'T be worse than 4 hours of DW running his Jaws.

Not to mention Countdown to Green with Lindsay Czarniak. :growl:

No more DW, Yes!, which means no more, "LOOK AT JUNIOR GO, GO JUNIOR GO! man that put him in 25th, see the way he drives that car, just an awesome driver, lets follow him for 100 laps instead of the leaders here, look at him drive that car, GO JUNIOR GO!!!!!!!!"

but we still have mushmouth.

I just gotta say TNT sucks. Yes I didn't have to hear DW which is always nice but today's show was a disaster. First off(from when I started watching) two of the tv people were talking and had no sound. Kyle Petty kept saying the wrong thing. The camera angles sucked big time and they never said anything about why JJ is listed in 29th despite finishing 5th.

New member here. I thought the TNT coverage was great :)

Much better then I was expecting. I fell asleep for about a hundred laps, though :p

Welcome semi!

I agree. It was certainly a nice change of pace to see different faces, for the most part. Larry Mac needs to take a vacation though. I'm not so sure about that 'big ass' set that they use for their pre-race coverage though. I think it came from the movie set of Transformers but I'm not certain. I thought that Adam Alexander, Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach Jr. did a good job in the booth. That has got to be a tough marathon of a broadcast to get through for their first race of the season even without the added rain delay. And..... I am not sure if was TNT, DirecTV or maybe just my set up but the audio cut out at times during the pre-race and rain delayed coverage. That kinda sucked but I'd hope that they'd have that figured out by next weeks coverage. Oh well, for those of you that hated TNT, at least you only have five more races.

It was okay. One of their cameras had a serious glitch, and I'd like to have seen them post the top five before going to commercial.
