NASCAR on TNT

Welcome semi!

Thanks you :waver: :)

I agree. It was certainly a nice change of pace to see different faces, for the most part. Larry Mac needs to take a vacation though. I'm not so sure about that 'big ass' set that they use for their pre-race coverage though. I think it came from the movie set of Transformers but I'm not certain. I thought that Adam Alexander, Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach Jr. did a good job in the booth. That has got to be a tough marathon of a broadcast to get through for their first race of the season even without the added rain delay. And..... I am not sure if was TNT, DirecTV or maybe just my set up but the audio cut out at times during the pre-race and rain delayed coverage. That kinda sucked but I'd hope that they'd have that figured out by next weeks coverage. Oh well, for those of you that hated TNT, at least you only have five more races.

I like Adam Alexander. You don't never get to see him on the Cup broadcasts, just during the MRN Broadcasts. I think he did a great job :)

It was cool to see that Richard and Kyle interview. I think I've seen it before last year. I think

My only real problem was any time they showed the pit stops. They should be able to do 3 split screens so we can see more than 1 pit stop at a time. Other than that the broadcast was fine.

What did you all think of the 'real-time car separation in feet/inches'? IMO that was information overload and totally useless as you can see the cars on you television screen. Maybe it's just me.

I could care less. It's nowhere near as cheesy as that stupid Draft Lock thing ESPN used.

I think they are both stupid. What happened to the days when we would just see the cars and the running order at the top of the screen? Do we really need a draft lock or a closing rate, Digger or Race Buddy showing up every other lap, that stupid cgi "Pit Out" thing like we don't know where the end of pit road is.

I really enjoy it when they give the speeds at the line. You can look back through the field and see how your driver is running compared to the lead pack.

I'm not sure on the comparisons of the Digger character and the Race Buddy character. Digger seemed to have been created solely for monetary purposes and perhaps to entice a younger viewing audience as future fans of the sport. The latter, not a bad idea. It simply seemed that once there was a taste of the money that could be made from that product DW and crew promoted it to no end. That little Race Buddy character. What is its purpose other than promoting their online service? I don't know, maybe they are selling some sort of merchandise there too. IMO the service that they provide by doing additional coverage online shouldn't be seen as anything other than a plus. It's too bad that the other networks can't follow their lead. I guess Turner/NASCAR are the reason for that.

And it's not San Francisco as most of the pre-race hooplah usually depicts.
