NASCAR on TNT

She would be cutting it close. She already does the Truck series prerace does she not?

SPEED could easily bring in someone else for the Truck Series pre-race show. Personally, I like Wendy Venturini a lot more than Krista Voda. Aside from Mike Joy and Dick Berggren, Venturini and Bob Diller are the two best reporters at FOX Sports' disposal and they don't use either of them.

.... and kudos to those sneakin in a NASCAR commercial during the OKC/SA conf finals tonight. On TNT.
Got my attention.

I was just reading about a new segment on TNT called 'NASCAR Generations'. Old school race fans may enjoy their panel. The panel will include Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett & Bill Elliott among others. They are to discuss the sport's biggest topics and story lines. I'll be interested to see their collective take on the KB topic.

I'll predict 3 votes for 'would have gotten his ass beat back in the day'.

Nothing "sneaky" about it! I am so happy that the FOX season is over. I do like Mike Joy, Wendy V. and Bob Dillner. I will not miss 3-plus hours of DW and Larry Mac. Both will still be quite visible on SPEED but they will be much easier to avoid.

robbybee, robbybee, robbybee. Sorry to burst you bubble. You must have not read the link I posed a few posts above yours. Here's an excerpt.....

During the race, McReynolds will have his own studio where he will provide in-race analysis, and the studio also includes a cut-away car so he can show viewers the machines underneath the men who drive them.
Not only do you still get McReynolds, you'll go mano a mano.

Thanks, DPK. I knew that that was going to happen. They did that last year as well on TNT.

What I am ekspeshully not going to miss is him in the race announce booth. A few cut-aways during a race telecast will be plenty!

I'm especially looking forward to his explanation of how brakes work. That's always baffled me as a long time NASCAR fan.

Yeah, yeah! And show me how the roof flaps work again, will ya?

I do understand that they have to address the questions that the newest viewers might have, so I don't have a huge problem with the basic illustrations of what does what and when. I don't feel that I am being talked down to cause there may be some 10 year-old (or 40 year-old for that matter) who is watching his/her first-ever race. The more they understand, the more they will appreciate the sport.

I am very much looking forward to the Countdown to Green shows with the historical segments. Those are outstanding. I wish I could buy a blu-ray compilation of all of them.

Oh goody, I thought we were done with the three stooges. We get one of them back.

TNT also will have a new on-set touch screen application that will allow their broadcast team to track drivers throughout the race, provide real-time weather updates and allow for social media engagement.

TNT’s Inside Trax will return, with select crew chiefs and teams equipped with microphones to provide deeper access inside team strategy.

What's so difficult about just airing the race and showing what we would be watching if we were in the stands?

Or does "AT&T This Is What's Happening Right Now On The Track Presented by Pizza Hut and Budweiser" not appeal to the broadcast sponsors?

So does that mean we won't see any of that in your posts from now on?

Whatever.

Social media has its uses. But, having watched how other Turner networks utilize social media and all it does is take away from the telecast. If I want to know what the fans are thinking, I'll go on ****** Twitter or come on here.

This is a shame because I enjoy TNT's pre-race shows and their race coverage has the potential to be good if they get new cameramen, sound producers, graphics department, PxP announcer, commercial oversight and pit reporters.

Wally and KP are awesome and Countdown to Green is fun to watch (especially with all their throwback segments), informative and educational without treating people like they're idiots but TNT leaves a lot to be desired. Adam Alexander sends me off a cliff though, him and Kenny Wallace. When Kenny Wallace is on, I have this reflex that causes me to change the channel. When Adam Alexander comes on, I have a reflex to mute the television.

I think sometimes people spend too much time focusing on that which they don't like. Then they come here and spread their misery. Obviously there are flaws in the broadcasts. NASCAR is a tough sport to cover and it's played on an exceptionally large field. I think the networks try very hard to do a great job but they over do it. They lose focus on the actual racing. But hey, we do get to watch every race live and in HD. We also get pretty good access in terms of pit road and driver interviews as well. And it's free!

As far as social media is concerned, either deal with it or drive yourself (and everyone else) nuts whining about it because its not going anywhere. At least not until the next big thing.

We do have options: We can go to the race. We can get DIRECTV and watch Hotpass. We can subscribe to Trackpass. I do all three. Sure it costs money but we all have our vices, right?

Surely you jest. Someone on here whining? Quick moderator kick his ass off, "NOW".

I am unemployed so I no longer have television service by cable or satellite - - just a small antenna sitting on top of the TV. I watched the NASCAR races through last weekend on the local TV broadcast. The second half of the season is on TNT which has no local stations. Is there a free way to watch it online?

Check out racebuddy on nascar.com.

Justin.tv is how I watched a few races last year when I wasn't around a cable TV. Instead of searching for the race (Their search is crap), go to "Live Channels" next to the logo and click "racing". Last year, there were usually multiple people streaming each race. However, I read somewhere that they're cracking down on streaming broadcasts online, so it might not be like that anymore.

Is racebuddy like watching the TV or is it a single narrow view? I have never tried it before.

RaceBuddy is more like a compliment to watching the TV broadcast. You have several in-car cameras to choose from and a few other live cameras, but every time you change cameras, you get an ad. :( It's not a broadcast or a replacement for one, but for me it's fun to watch an in-car camera in addition to the main broadcast.

Go to jayski's nascar site. He has links to radio and espn online coverage of the race.
