Deadline for this week's pick is Friday, August 11th, noon Eastern time.

I wanna pick Larson but I know everyone else already will.

This just in . . . .

While reviewing the pick list, I discovered that @SlicedBread22 picked A.J. Allmendinger for both the Sonoma race and the second Pocono race.

So in updating the standings to correct my scoring mistake, @SlicedBread22 has had his score increased by 16 points, that is, the difference between the 23 points he received based on Allmendinger's finish at Pocono #2 and the 39 points that he should have received for making an "ineligible" pick for that race.

UPDATED STANDINGS

Meanwhile, during another slow day at the office, I came up with a version of the pick list that somewhat resembles the pick list that @KevinWI used while running the game in previous years in that it's easier to see just what drivers have been used by each player.

If you find any inaccuracies, lemme know . . .

Dang Pjmolo, that's an awesome spread sheet. Good job!
You still got a couple bullets left. Good Luck.

That gives a good perspective on the overall outlook of each player. The sandbaggers are all on a different strategy. Great job.

Question I have is arnt the sandbaggers worried about falling to far behind with not a lot of time to catch up? I feel it's okay to sprinkle that green every now and then during the season before the playoffs. I went in thinking who I was going to save for the last 5 or so races and worked off of that. Pretty interesting seeing strategies play out each week.

I picked too many of my back markers and mid packers at the wrong time. They DNF'd etc. So I'm further back than I should be. If I get a top 7 or 8 I'm fine with it.

Sandbagging is definitely risky because you waste picks throughout the early part of the year on guys you should never picked
Like for example I wasted picks on lajoie and gaulding because if almirola would never gotten hurt I would of picked him and another yellow instead. But picked bubba and billy johnson and may have hurt myself.

Yep it's a crap shoot and now the top dogs have to pick the crap. :D

Wait is there a minimum of red drivers that we have to use?
There are 9 A's and 16 B's that's 25. So to pick for 36 races I had to use 11 C's.

Of the green and yellow group drivers you only have 7 available anymore with 14 races left. That means you have to pick 7 reds or 4 reds and 3 no picks. Unless Carl Edwards or somebody like that comes out of no where.

That's the biggest reason I didn't want to sandbag. The last few years we have had pretty big drivers in good rides miss races. Who knows we may have another big time ride need a sub again. I want to run the least backmarkers as possible

Not in as bad of a spot as I thought. 5 reds, but two are Jones and Suarez, who are coming into their own. Plus I like where I have McDowell slotted. I just have two real crap drivers I have to pick. Spoiler: one is getting picked for Dega

I really think @Michfan is set for the win like he said he only needs to use two garbage drivers and is too far out there.

We think alike on that strategy.

From 25, now down to 20 players in the game as @R Clarence has been removed after having failed to make a pick for the fourth consecutive week. Hope everything is all right with him as he hasn't been on the board for some time now.

Chase Elliott is the fan favorite this week, having been picked by seven players.

There's only 4 ahead of me that picked Chase Elliott. That's not as bad as I expected. Now he needs to win it.
