The deadline for submittal of picks for the next race is Friday, March 2nd, noon Eastern time.

If there's anyone interested in playing the NASCAR Pick 'Em 2018 game that hasn't already come on board, rest assured that it's not too late to join in.

As indicated in Rule #12 of the official rules that can be found in the second post of this thread,
https://racing-forums.com/threads/nascar-pick-em-2018-daytona-1.62412/

. . . . the deadline to begin participating in the game has been established as the fourth race of the season. Any player that doesn't make a pick in any or all of the first three races will be awarded points for those races as specified by Rule #11.

Granted, by joining the game now you'll start off with a significant points deficit but it's not something that should be considered insurmountable.

And by having to pick drivers for only 34 races instead of the entire 36 race season, that's two less "slug" drivers that you'll have to consider using during the season long selection of driver picks.

As the deadline for driver picks for the Las Vegas race approaches, 20 picks have been submitted so far while 15 remain outstanding. :idunno:

Just a reminder to those who haven't made their pick yet . . .

The deadline for submittal of picks for the next race is Friday, March 2nd, noon Eastern time.

I'm curious to see if anyone is taking the #51. A good driver, but sub par equipment. I thought about it.

Stella Artois in the bottle. None of that draft stuff..

Kyle Busch joins Cole Custer, the third different driver to climb into the #51 car this year, as the most popular driver this week, both having been picked by four players.

Attrition :)

Working in favor of the strategy employed by @Fordracing7 last year, three players failed to make a pick this week.

That was countered somewhat by @Clutch, who has returned to playing the game for the first time since 2014.
Good luck to all and thanks for participating.

McDowell and I ... all alone with our limited resources.

I will wallow in self-pity all weekend.

Just y'all wait, Kasey Kahne is gonna win this one in some ass equipment. Or hopefully hit a top 20

I'm employing the "get as far out front as I can early and hope for others' misfortune later" strategy.

If I get another good week I'll probably dip into the back half of the field for the next couple.

I decided to go ahead and use KDB this race, just to get the nasty deed done :D

I went with Joey, my 8-year old grandson's favorite driver for kinda obvious reasons.

After Daytona and then the shootout at Atlanta last week, I'm looking forward to today's race.

Congrats to @SlicedBread22 for maintaining the lead in the standings for the third consecutive week as his strategy seems to be working just fine so far. His pick of Joey Logano finished in 7th place at Las Vegas and in the first three races of the season, @SlicedBread22 is averaging an impressive six points per race.

Congrats also to @Blake Hylton, @Conover, @Brentford, and @Clutch for having the highest finishing pick in Kyle Busch, who finished in 2nd place behind race winner Kevin Harvick.

The season's first "Wiping Up the Rear" award goes to @aunty dive, whose pick of Michael McDowell is the first pick of the year to finish a race dead last.

Still in 24th. I didn't lose any spots with DiBenedetto. Way to go driver. :beerbang:

I like this strategy so far.. now I can afford to get a 30th place finish and still maintain the lead.. these 36 and 37 car fields will make it interesting over a 36 race schedule tho
