The deadline for submittal of picks for the first race is Friday, February 15th, noon Eastern time.
 
Not trying to give my pick away here, but I had no idea my guy was one of the race your way in guys last night.

I guess I like to live dangerously :cool:
 
Driver picks for the Daytona 500 have been submitted, recorded, checked and then double checked..

The runaway most popular pick for the first race of the season is Jamie McMurray who, like Danica Patrick in last year's Daytona 500, took both the popular and electoral vote by a wide margin.

Paul Menard and Brendan Gaughan are the second most popular picks, each selected by four players.

Well I am starting off 2019 good, forgot to get my pick in, sigh.....
 
If Jamie wins we are gonna have a massive tie for the lead! PJ, you are gonna have to look at clock in times on our entries! ;)

Exactly why I picked him, I'm like well we can only pick someone one time a year, go with the guy who's gonna be in one race, and does pretty decent in these races. Hopefully he looks better come Sunday.
 
For me, it was between McMurray and Mears. I figure Mears may race a plate track again this year so I could pick him then, but McMurray is likely done after Sunday. Mcmurray seems crash everytime I pick him on plate races though.
 
I'm always interested to see if anyone takes an A lister. Looks like we had one take. I'm never brave enough to do so in fear of wasting a pick.

Although you didn't submit a pick on time for the Daytona 500, feel free to join the game next week.

From past experience, not making a pick for one race is not a deal breaker.
 
When will the A,B and C ratings be published? I know it’s relative but always interesting to see the grouping.

I was tempted by Jamie but hope that Bubba can replicate his magic at Daytona again. I don’t see him getting any stronger in that equipment down the line.

I considered Bubba as well. The only time I saw him near the front last year was at the RP tracks. He's a tough pick at any other track simply because of his sub-par equipment. McMurray was a no-brainer.

Yep, and as long as he does better than the usual course of low-end (not full time) or one-off drivers, you’ve come out ahead. It’s a really sensible choice for the game strategy.

I went with Menard over Bubba and Jamie. But Jamie is probably the ‘smart money’ even if his car is unable to compete for the win. He knows how to keep it in the lead draft as long as he doesn’t get caught up in a big one.
 
I'm a little jealous of the Kligerman and Mears pick, hate being in the same boat with everyone else like McMurray.

Plenty happy to root for Menard, after the Clash thing, get yourself some redemption there Paul. Spent a little on good equipment.

The 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series got off to a less than rousing start when less than half of the starting line-up was able to finish the season opening Daytona 500.

The results of the race played havoc with the Pick 'Em game as the picks of only five players managed a top 20 finish in the Great American Race.

Congrats to rookie players @Elliott_Fan_9 and @Head423 who saw their pick of Michael McDowell finish in 5th place behind race winner Denny Hamlin.

Congrats also to @Team Penske, @FLRacingFan, and @Michfan as the only other players to pick drivers that were able to manage a top 20 finish.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the results of the race. I'm pretty sure it's a super rare occurence that a C driver gets you a top 5!

It's unheard of actually. Except maybe at Dega or Daytona.
